Gelateria Véneta - Mejor Heladería de España — Restaurant in Madrid

The gelato was just okay, considering they advertise best ice-cream in Spain, and have other awards, their gelato in general is good however we have definitely tried better around Spain. We had the intense chocolate and it was very rich and delicious however we expected it to be a bit less sweet considering its dark chocolate. The place was half clean, tables were not well cleaned over the 45 minutes we spent inside sitting. The staff is okay however for being in the centre they didn't have 1 person willing to speak any English, not even the most basic, I am fluent in spanish however my family is not and they were a bit more inconsiderate and "rude" towards them than to me and other customers. I would recommend going elsewhere unless you want to try galletas de abuela flavour. They do NOT allow you to sample even 1 flavour, so as expats the flavour of "grandma's cookies" is unknown and we didn't want to order and...

Staff attitude was a mixed bag. One gave me an angry stare and rude word when I tried to ask for her help in getting me a flavor after I paid. I didn't know she was serving another customer and she perhap thought I was intendedly trying to cut the line. In all fairness to me and to her, there wasn't really a line - just chaos - so I randomly approached one of them for attention. After an eternity of waiting, another friendlier staff came help me got my flavor.

The gelato was disappointing - gooey texture and artificial taste - for its price (and putting up with their staff attitude lol.) For a 4 euro small cup I couldn't even finish it. Does not deserve their self-claimed of best ice cream in Spain. I have definitely had better elsewhere.

It's ok to stop by if you need a shade and coolant from the hot weather in a tourist area. But you might as well buy an ice popsicle from the convenient stores for...

Purchased 3-scoop to eat with my daughter and wife. We specifically asked (in Spanish as we speak Spanish too) whether chocolate, menta, or cappuccino has nuts as my daughter has a severe nut allergy that can kill her. The hostess said “no” to all three.

Well, my daughter started to complain that her throat was hurting and she was itching all over. My wife took a bite and had an almond in her bite. We had to leave immediately and go to where we were staying to give her medicine to counter act the reaction.

So mad and so unprofessional of this company! Totally ruined a happy moment for us.
