As I was strolling close to la Gran Via, I stumbled upon this amazing steak house. Being from Austin Texas all I can say is that I felt like I walked into a worm hole that took me back to Texas. Immediately upon entering the place it looked just like your typical western bar from back home. I did a double take when I saw the two large TV screens as they were playing back some football games and it had CBS Austin on the lower right hand corner. It was like I kicked my heels and went back to Texas. I had a few drinks and was just looking around at all the decor, it was amazing to see it all. I will definitely be coming back with all my friends both Expat and Spanish friends so they can see what it's like in Texas. I did notice some clientele that ŵere speaking English so it's not surprising that folks from the States are dining here. It's a couple blocks away from Gran Via and it is close to the Primark if you want to use that as a reference point. There is also a Corte Ingles outlet store across the street just to make everyone else happy if you know what I mean. Very reasonable prices at the restaurant. I suggest you enjoy the bar for drinks and then go to a dining table for the...
Read moreDo not eat here! The staff was unfriendly and uninterested in providing any kind of service to us. We ordered a couple of beers, a starter (jalapeño poppers, onion rings and cheese sticks) and a ribs combo platter.
To start off on a positive note; the beer was ok.
The starter was cold. The jalapeño poppers were still frozen inside and the the cheese sticks and the onion rings were cold. The ribs were terrible. They were overcooked and dry as sand. The potatoes was under cooked and the corn was barely warm. We didn't even dare to taste the chicken.
We had to complain and tried to get hold of our waiter. He acknowledged us, but forgot to come over. We tried to speak to the manager but she didn't understand english (fair enough) so she sent the bartender over instead. He was nice enough and we got to explain the situation.
It ended with us leaving and paying for the beer and the starter.
How they manage to screw up deep fried food I don't know. Even worse is they call themselves Ribs. What we got served wasn't even...
Read moreWe visited the place, excited for what we were going to experience, given the overwhelming amount of positive reviews online. Sadly we were unpleasantly surprised. Food quality: left a lot to be desired. The ribs were served almost cold and tasted mediocre at best. The sirloin stake was not cooked properly. Service: the staff did not speak English at all. We had issues communicating with them even in the most simple language. They were also borderline rude in the sense that they addressed us mostly with grunts and weird looks. As if it was our fault that they did not understand a single word we were saying. Worst of all, they repeatedly touched the glass rim while serving us our drinks with their bare hands. Atmosphere: it really does look like a Texan barbecue place but this does not suffice to compensate for the mediocrity of the service and the quality of food. Cost: Given our experience it is definitely not a “value for money” place to visit and I would never recommend...
