Café Carmen 17 Bistro — Restaurant in Madrid

Wonderful little gem in the heart of madrid! We were looking for a place to have dinner. Our 4 year old is very picky. Despite the fact that there was no plain omlette on the menu, the owners didn't hesitate and happily fixed us a specialized omlette for the child. Beside that - the food was absolutely incredible. Wonderful biscuit of tuna and avocado, crispy fried calamari, and the crown jewel - one of the best empanadas I've ever tasted. Their outer shell was thin and crispy, their insides were filled with the most tender meat, and combined they were just heavenly.

The host kept coming to the tables and making sure everything was good, infusing jokes into the meal which lightnened the mood and overall made the experience extremely pleasant. The prices are ridiculously low and give the best value for money we had on this trip.

Well the dinner that wasn't. Four friends out for dinner. Placed order, one dinner arrived and was eaten before the 2nd dinner arrive. 2nd dinner eaten and we were still waiting for the last 2 dinners (shared seafood paella)waited another 20 minutes then asked for the 2nd time where our food was , one minute was the reply, after another 10 min they brought out a chicken paella that looked rather dried up. Explained we were not eating it or paying for it as we ordered seafood paella , they then charged us full price for the drinks which we were keeping to have with our meal. Very disappointing.wasnt the facility to rate zero stars so...

I went today to this shop and i had one tortilla(tapas) and two beers. When I asked for the bill the waitress had charged us 11,50€ (2,50 for the tapas and 9 for the beers) I told her that the beer we ordered was cana(the small one) and that there is a mistake in the bill and she told me that they don't have canas, despite the fact that the menu had three prices for each beer( 2,20€ the small one). So I told her that they have to inform their clientes for anything that don't have and her answer was "lo siento"( i am sorry). I DON'T recommend for any reason this shop. There are more shops that you can pay the same amount of money...
