HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! We (group of 3) choose this place because of it’s good reviews and decided to take the time to wait in line. We didn’t have tho wait long before being served, which is where the awful experience started for us. The waitress that got our order was extremely rude to all of us! 1. It started with me telling her the two flavours I wanted which in this place where all named in Italian (I guess to give off a more Italian vibe), so I tell her “mango y fragola” just as it was written there and she corrects me in a super rude way telling me it is called “fresa”. Don’t get me wrong, I get that we are in Spain and I do speak Spanish but if the flavours are all written in Italian I am going to tell you what I read and am not translating for you (not my job! Get someone who understands the names of the flavours or simply put them in Spanish then). 2. While the above was happening an other waitress asked my friend what she wanted and as she was about to answer the rude woman SCREAMED and I mean literally screamed at my friend that she could not do that and that we came as a group and had to order together and with her. I mean you can imagine how strange we felt in that moment, especially as we did nothing wrong. 3. She then continued to serve us but with a face of anger and hatred that made us feel very uncomfortable. As we finally got to pay (thank god not with her) we told the man what had happened and he started to apologise only to then blame the customers in general: “sorry, but she is stressed because it is a busy day” lol. Best excuse ever. I mean is he not living off the people buying ice cream? Is this not his and her job to serve with a smile on their face and suck whatever their personal problem with this world is, up? We are not to blame that she has a stressful day, on the other hand the customers are the reason she as a job. The best thing was, instead of apologising to us which would have been fine, because we all are human and everybody has a bad day from time to time, she came to defend herself and attacked us further shaking with anger while we were talking to the man. Never ever coming back here, I don’t pay to get screamed at for no reason. Would give zero stars if I could. You can imagine that the ice cream did not taste well after that experience.

I had this place and Kalúa Fuencarral 149 the same day and the gelato here was disappointing. Tried a few flavours and after not liking any of them just asked for their pistachio. For the small cone, she said I could only have one flavour (where most other places let you get 2 at least). Also the small cone isn’t even a waffle cone lol.. I didn’t know beforehand that their “pistachio” is their namesake flavour gioelia, which is pistachio mixed with almonds or something. Absolutely horrible. I’m trying to get the artificial almond flavour out of my mouth as I write this review and I didn’t taste any pistachios at all! I don’t know how people are comparing this place to the gelato in Italy (I’ve had gelato in Rome, Milan, and Florence and this place is nowhere near anything I’ve had in Italy). That’s not even to mention the rude service (subtle racism?). I was in line but went to look at the flavours. It was my turn around that time and I walked three steps over to order and the young lady in black hair wouldn’t even acknowledge me until the couple behind me said in Spanish that I was next. When I asked if I could try some flavours, she looked very stern and said “only 2.” Good thing my gf was with me so we tried 4 total and we didn’t like any of them. I normally don’t write super long reviews but nothing about this place left me feeling satisfied (especially when there’s so many good reviews - maybe I got a bad server on a bad day and a bad batch of the pistachio but that would be too coincidental for both right?). Do yourself a favour and go to Kalúa Fuencarral 149 instead (the pistachio Oreo, kinder bueno, and dolce de leche there were all amazing).

How do they ran this place so well? How do they hire? Everyone is sooo nice? This season they didn’t have straciatella, but they went out of their way to make up for it. In particular, Monica Tuve el placer de volver con mi hija y poder felicitar a su padre por la hija, Valentina, a quien describí más abajo Absolutely excellent. The best ice cream in Madrid. I tried two other ice cream shops, which had high ratings on Google. This one is by far the best. On the Photos, take a look at how much chocolate their stracciatella has, and compare it to my review of the other two places (I am not naming them not to be mean). The taste of the cream is great, unlike the others the sugar is subtle, not overdone. There are clean restrooms and plugs to connect your phone. Their staff speak fluent English. When I visited the first time, I experienced something quite nice. A delivery woman brought some food, and the young girl behind the counter asked, would you like some ice cream? What flavor? Of course the delivery woman who had probably been working many long hours was delighted to get some ice cream on a hot summer night. It was a beautiful gesture. Whoever is managing this store, it’s managing it really well.
