It was a charming pizza restaurant. Upon entering the place it was spotless, very clean. All the pizza choices are there available under the case upon entering. All the slices looked freshly made. Although a complete menu is available where you can order salads and a full pizza, I chose to just get the slice. I went with the vegetarian but it could have easily have been any other that was available as they all appeared like they were ready for a photo shoot. They were all perfect looking. There were probably 3 groups of people already dining in the restaurant. The attendant was very polite and once I had placed my order of a slice and a drink, she walked me towards the back where there were more dining tables. Very appealing decor on the walls and really good jazz music was playing at a low enough level to appreciate and still enjoy a conversation. I even tried to have Google scan for the artist that was playing but my wifi signal was pretty low. On the menu they offer their own wifi (QR) so that is a convenient solution. Once I received my order I can only say that I had never tasted a Pizza in Spain that so delicious. It had so much flavor. I recommend that you try it out. It is tucked away in a narrow street so it can easily be missed. I happened to see it only because I was sitting waiting for the traffic to stop so that I could cross the street. I then noticed a small pizza sign and decided to take a look. Don't get me wrong, there are many dining locations in the immediate area. I had already passed several pizza shops and pizza was on my mind. If you are in the area you will not be disappointed. After I paid, I chatted briefly with both the attendant and the pizza maker and they were very friendly and easy to talk to. They were genuinely interested in customer feedback...it's almost as though they were the owners, that is the kind of customer attention that I received. I have to go back for another slice for under 4 euros.

OMGawd, this is what you expect to get from the best pizza place in Naples (and yes, I've been there), but you're in Madrid. We had both the la margherita pizza and the la bufalina pizza (made with buffalo mozzarella). Both were incredible. Super thin, crisp crust. The owner was incredible as well as the beautiful young lady who waited on us. You can tell he has a passion for good food. Stop thinking about it and just go. It really is that good. You will not be disappointed. Thank you my friends at La Pizzateca. I can't wait to be back. Mucho amor.

Delicious Pizza: The pizza here is absolutely delicious! The crust is perfectly crispy, and the toppings are fresh and flavorful. Definitely one of the best places to get pizza in town!"

Great Atmosphere: I love the atmosphere of this pizza shop! It’s cozy and inviting, making it a great spot for a casual meal with friends or family. Plus, the staff is super friendly!"

Variety of Options: They have an amazing variety of pizzas to choose from, including vegan options. There's something for everyone! Mine I ordered La rucolana and La tutti funghi really the best.

OK, I'm going to say something VERY controversial here. But it's my opinion that Pizzateca has the world's best pizza.

As the author of the book American Pie says, the world's best pizza is usually the one you grew up with.

However, I have eaten at Bianco's Pizzeria in Phoenix, all the highest rated pizza places in New York, Los Angeles and elsewhere, and this is the best I've had.

Most of the best places in America nail the toppings but fail on crust. They tend to use yeast-based leavening, which can only get you so far. Pizzateca, on the other hand, is doing something magical with the crust that involves 3 days of fermentation, according to the owner.

Specifically, Pizzateca's muchroom and garlic pizza is truly mind-blowing.

Please, do NOT fail to eat at this tiny joint if you're anywhere near...
