I had ”Afternoon Tea with champagne” here with my partner, and it was just perfect! The service was excellent starting from the reservation that I made with somewhat short notice and by e-mail. They answered very quickly, and everything went smoothly. Everything served was very good, but two things deserve special mentioning: the scones and the tea! The restaurant has a special tea list with various options of (mostly seasoned) teas and infusions. We had “Sweet Caramel” Pu-erh and “Jardin de las Hadas” Sencha, both excellent and not too sweet, so that one can also taste the good quality tea. The scones were literally fresh from the oven and amazingly good. I don’t know what is the trick they use with the clotted cream (it was somewhat different to the versions I have seen before), it was so delicious that we were seriously tempted to finish it by eating directly from the bowl! The tea was served in a beautiful roof terrace, decorated with flowerbeds and a small fountain. They also have a light cover for the terrace, protecting it from direct sun/light rain. Another option would be the “mirror room” in the covered inner yard, which is also beautifully decorated. The waiter and all the other staff we met were exceptionally kind and welcoming. The hotel is currently closed due to covid-19, but is expected to be opened in September. We had a small tour in one standard room and a suite, well-equipped rooms with lovely decorations with antique furniture. I hope that at some point we’ll have the opportunity to stay there and/or to recommend it to friends and relatives visiting us in Madrid. Meanwhile, I warmly recommend trying the afternoon tea. We are planning to try the brunch, whenever we have the opportunity.

My mother and I had the loveliest evening dining at Restaurant Haroma on the rooftop terrace. As the sun set, we were serenaded by a talented guitarist (he plays every Tuesday and Thursday).

We ordered several dishes and were delighted by the freshness of every plate. Four stood out as absolute must-tries: the delicate sea bass, the crustacean ravioli, the Torrija flambéed with cookie ice cream, and the Millefeuille of lemon and meringue cream. Each dish was light yet satisfying. Also, I don’t usually mention this in reviews, but the dinnerware was “on brand,” adding a nice touch to the overall atmosphere.

The service was wonderful: gracious and hospitable. And unlike many rooftop venues, the space was thoughtfully arranged—intimate and uncrowded, allowing us to enjoy relaxed, private conversation. For a really hot day, they offer misting fans that do a wonderful job at cooling the area off. There are also beautiful plants / flowers along the roof patio adding to a romantic, peaceful setting.

After traveling through Spain for two weeks, this stood out as a truly memorable experience that we will be recommending to all...
