When it comes to travelling abroad, one of the biggest challenges for Indians is satisfying their food cravings.. This is why, whenever we travel, we make it a point to search for Indian restaurants in the vicinity of our hotel. During my recent trip to Madrid, we did the same and were lucky to have chosen Indian Aroma, a gem of a restaurant situated just 200m away from our hotel.

We did not reserved it in advance, but Nazrul their Manager was accommodating enough to provide us a one hour window for our Lunch. The food options were sufficient for us vegetarians. The taste of food was also fabulous. After that we visited the restaurant multiple times and tried various dishes like Dal makhani, Bhindi, Dal Tadka, Palak Paneer, Mixed veg. All the dishes were cooked to perfection and authentically Indian.

Nazrul and his team were fantastic with their service and provided us with complimentary Papadums and chutneys for our every single visit. Infact they even surprised us with a small shot of Mango Lassi many a times. So full marks to the restaurant for their food and service.

The only drawback I could see with the restaurant is the space constraint, because for the kind of food they serve the people throng the restaurant In large numbers. This is a problem of plenty and how they can solve it I am not sure. So just an advice that book the table in advance especially on weekend so that you don’t miss their...

Yesterday, we went to this place and had some delicious food.

In the quest of finding best Indian Restaurant in Europe, this one is clearly in top-3.

We ordered Kadai Paneer, Dal Tadka and Baingan Bharta with Garlic Naan, Butter Naan and Parantha (layered).

I will start with Kadai Paneer- the curry was cooked nicely and it had bell-peppers in it. For me that's the way to identify the authenticity. The peppers were also charred.

The dal tadka was smooth and very comforting.

The Baingan Bharta was just like the real one and not middle-eastern type.

The Naan were not chewy and it felt like that the dough used for Naan and Parantha was fermented. Breads were super soft.

I am upset with the quantity (~100 ml) of Raita (4-5 euros).

We ordered 1L Tinto de Verano and it was also smooth.

For dessert, we ordered Gulab Jamun and they were warm and juicy.

I really liked the fact that they also give you small glasses of Mango Lassi to finish your meal.

The service was quick and the server of ours was super nice to us (I forgot the name).

I think if you want to satisfy your cravings for some nice indian food, this place is a must try. The city is full of some really expensive Indian restaurants and I doubt if they are as good as this one.

They just need some outside space to improve their environment...

If you’re looking for authentic Indian flavors in Madrid, Indian Aroma is a fantastic choice! From the moment we walked in, the warm hospitality and inviting atmosphere set the tone for a great dining experience.

We ordered the Paneer Kadai, Dal Tarka, Garlic Naan, and Masala Papadom, and every dish was packed with rich, aromatic spices and bold flavors. The paneer was soft and perfectly cooked in a flavorful kadai gravy, while the dal had that comforting, home-style taste. The garlic naan was fresh, fluffy, and paired beautifully with the curries.

A special mention goes to the complimentary Mango Lassi and home style chutneys with fried papadoms, which added a delightful touch to the meal. The lassi was creamy and refreshing, and the chutneys—ranging from tangy to spicy—elevated the flavors of our dishes.

Overall, Indian Aroma delivers an excellent Indian dining experience in Madrid. Great food, friendly service, and thoughtful little extras make it a place we’d...

The signs were good as I entered the restaurant, a small queue. Then I realised it was to be seated at empty tables!! It was more like bad management, than the restaurant being busy/ popular Took a seat and placed my order soon after, the menu wasn’t that big. I didn’t notice at the time until I looked back at my photos but the complimentary poppadoms and dips/ pickles were on the table before I arrived - not nice, how long were house there for?? Don’t bother with the WiFi, they really don’t want you to use it. Look at that password!! Meal came. It was not very tasty For me the naan bread was not made in the kitchen, had the appearance and taste of something shop bought or mass produced Disappointed by this meal. Even the waiter (or manager) spoke to me before I left, with a sorry looking face and said something about the chef not working that night, that he himself would cook me a real curry if I came back another day I cannot recommend this restaurant

After traveling through Spain for 11 days, our meal at Indian Aroma easily stands out as the best we've had—and quite possibly some of the best Indian food we've experienced outside of India itself. This place is a true gem. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm and welcoming. The manager, Naz, was outstanding—attentive, deeply knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the food they serve. He took the time to walk us through how their dishes are prepared, emphasizing their commitment to using only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients. His dedication to authenticity and excellence is evident in every bite. What truly impressed us was how the kitchen tailored the dishes perfectly to our preferred Indian spice level—not a common find in Europe. The flavors were bold, beautifully balanced, and deeply satisfying. It was a taste of home in the heart of Madrid.
