Oven wasn’t just dinner…it was a whole experience, and one we’ll be talking about for a long time.
From the moment we sat down, Adrian made us feel like royalty. He didn’t just take our order, he took the time to connect, explain the dishes in perfect English, tell us more about Madrid, and even customize my request without missing a beat. His service was next-level thoughtful.
We started with the burrata and garlic bread, which came out warm, topped with fresh chives, and so good we ordered more…the bread basket for round two. The Caesar salad with grilled chicken (instead of fried) was crisp, fresh, and bursting with flavor (tomatoes are so good), and the gnocchi was rich and pillowy—absolute perfection. Every dish was clearly crafted with care.
We ended the night with a warm cast-iron cookie topped with ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate—heavenly doesn’t even begin to describe it.
And then there was Mirela, who was just as incredible—quietly attentive, always clearing the table, keeping our waters full, and even bringing warm water for my supplements without me needing to ask twice. That kind of attention to detail? Rare.
Between the bold flavors, impeccable service, and cozy, music-just-right vibe, Oven earned a full-on wow wow wow from us. Adrian and Mirela—thank you for making this night...
Read moreWe were drawn in by the high rating but unfortunately left disappointed. When we arrived for lunch, the restaurant was half empty, yet we were told there was no space without a reservation. After making one on the spot, we were seated a few minutes later. It then took about 15 minutes before our order was taken. We ordered the Mediterranean focaccia, caprese salad, La Estrella de Oven! per Christina Bowe, and Spaghetti con Gambón alla Diavola. The focaccia was excellent, but the rest fell short. The mozzarella in the salad was sour, the tomato tasted as though it had been frozen, the oven spaghetti was overcooked and overly salty, and the shrimp pasta was bland with undercooked shrimp. To add to this, the bill initially included an extra salad we hadn’t ordered, though this was corrected when we pointed it out. It’s possible we came on an off day, but for a restaurant with such a high rating, the overall experience and food quality were very...
Read moreCame here cos of its great reviews but discovered that every dish has mustard as an ingredient - I have a severe allergy to mustard. Not their fault then, no. But I query why you would put mustard in every dish, even their pizzas? For me it just acts as a cheap flavour enhancer to hide the fact that the food is really tasteless and poor quality. I do not have this problem in restaurants in Italy, so I also doubt the authenticity of their recipes. The menu as is normal these days is digital, shouldn’t be a problem then, but as there is poor signal inside the restaurant, it means you are forced to link into their wifi which asks for your details, date of birth etc and is slow and cumbersome. I paid for my beer and left so I...
