Upon seeing the building you would not say this is a hotel. The entire facade is covered in graffiti. |The lobby looks nice, staff is friendly-ish. The elevator is really small and narrow. |The room looks nice but rather small. There is not much space to move around. The bathroom is not cosy at all with the most unpleasant lighting ever and a mat glass door that is too small for its frame. |If you are sharing a room with someone else that person can see AND hear you on the toilet... No privacy there. ||Tried to do a powernap before heading into town. Unfortunately that’s impossible with the constructions going on in the street. All day there is noise coming from the street. On top of that the beds are SUPER HARD. Spring mattresses that look and feel really worn down. Also they don’t have real blankets. We only had an army blanket hidden under that white sheet. ||At night you can still hear the constructions going on. A bit less than during the day. |And if the noisy outside isn’t enough to keep you awake the noise inside will do too. You can hear EVERYTHING that’s going on in the rooms next door, in the hallway, even when someone is taking a shower upstairs... Sounds travel fast and far in the entire building. |You’d expect some soundproof walls from a four star hotel. ||Our second night we were woken up by talking guests who were in the hallway at 2 AM. |You’d think they’d be more considerate for those who are asleep... They were really talking loud. Fell asleep again and at 3 AM the fire/smoke alarm went off. |I can only assume those same inconsiderate guests wanted to have a smoke in their room and thought an open window would be enough (?). ||So after the WORST night in this so-called 4 star hotel we woke up with pain in our backs. That’s how hard the beds are. ||We went out for breakfast and when we returned to out hotel room we noticed a funky smell. My partner opened up the wardrobe and a HORRIBLE stench came out of it. On the top shelf there was a plastic bag that wasn’t ours. Inside was a decomposing sandwich wrapped in tin foil. We didn’t notice it on our first day but it probably starter smelling awful because it got warmer in the room. I threw it on the balcony and reported it to the lobby guy. They would have it removed. We did not even get an apology for it. ||How could the cleaning staff have missed this? They’re obviously not doing their jobs. They only make it LOOK clean, they don’t actually make it clean. When you look closely there is dust everywhere. My partner reacts quite heavily to it as he starts sneezing and coughing every morning (only in the room). ||Despite all that I had a great time in Madrid. But not thanks to this hotel. The ONLY GOOD THING is its location. It urgently needs an upgrade OR it should lose a star or two. We did not get the experience we paid for when it comes to this...

Will NOT come back!! You have been warned!
Construction work around the Hotel and noisy from the drunks outside at 4am.
We were out for the day, came back and firstly our key cards had stopped working even though we had booked for two nights through Expedia.
We had also left the do not disturb sign on the door, only to come back to find that house keeping had entered the room.
I keep a Loyalty gift card to use to activate the room electrics. They had taken my card out of the slot but also took it out of the room!
It's a non smoking hotel but some guest smok in their rooms and the smell is in the corridor on our floor.
I asked the front desk and complained that my room was entered even with the do not disturb sign and my card was taken also there was the smell of smoke in the corridor.
She just shrugged!??!
She later came back up and and handed back my card, then said at least we found your card... It's besides the point. They should not be entering or taking guest property out of the room! What else have they taken?
The hotel is very very dated
If I can give it zero stars I would! There is nothing going for this hotel except its good proximity to Plaza del Sol. But there are plenty of other...
