RIBS SAN BERNARDO — Restaurant in Madrid

Just flew into Madrid from the Central Texas Hill Country (Austin) where we know a thing or two about grilled meat. My wife and I just happened to walk past the Mr. Ribs on San Bernardo in time to see them stoking the charcoal and laying a rack of ribs on the grill. We popped in for dinner and were NOT disappointed. The ribs were not Texas, but were still really good! The grilled veggies were truly outstanding - done perfectly (a little al dente and a perfect amount of char, with a drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of sea salt).

The service from both Gustavo and George was outstanding - fun, informative, helpful and friendly without being too present. Really, Gustavo and George made the atmosphere and experience a solid 5 Stars for us. These guys love working together, love what they do, and love making their customers happy. They really made the atmosphere 5 stars. We plan on eating at Mr. Ribs frequently, especially if Gustavo and George are working....

Upon our arrival to Madrid we were hungry and just wanted to eat pretty much anything. I am so glad that we stumbled upon this cool place. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a smile and seated emediatly. We asked the waiter what burger would he recomend and he definitely recomended the best one. The food came shortly after. We were pleased with the looks but aspecialy with the taste of the food. I have to point out that the waiter by the name of George was extremely helpful and kind to us the whole time that we were there. I am sure that I’ll go back there at least one more time...

Posiblemente uno de los peores servicios que nunca he visto en Madrid. Fuimos a comer un menú entre semana. El restaurante estaba casi vacío. Un camarero con pocas ganas de trabajar y que apenas hablaba el idioma nos atendió. Aproximadamente 50 minutos después, y con varias preguntas y quejas, llegaros los primeros. Sin que mientras tanto el camarero trajera el pan, o algo por la demora. Sencillamente se quedaba por algún rincón cruzado de brazos. La responsable tampoco movía un dedo.

Otro buen rato después, ya casi 1h15min después de que pidiéramos la comida, nos llega la encargada para preguntar que habíamos pedido de segundo. No tenían ni idea. El camarero en la inopia, y los cocineros a por uvas ( que encima había varios...) .

Más de 1h30min después de que llegáramos, nuestro camarero estrella nos trae 2 segundos, que previamente puso a otra mesa -en dicha mesa solo había una persona y ni había pedido aún-, en lugar de a nosotros. Comida fría, cantidades mínimas y calidad nula.

Los otros segundos ni estaban ni se esperaban, ya decidimos devolver los recibidos y marcharnos, sin comer (solo unos pírricos primeros con 4 lechugas y patatas y poco más), tras casi 1h45min en el local. Nos cobraron medio menú por las bebidas y los primeros, que de primeros solo tenían el orden en el que fueron servidos.

En resumen, un absoluto desastre en el servicio, total desgana por trabajar por parte de todos los empleados, y comida de muy mala calidad con muy poca cantidad, y todo ello pese a que el local...
