SUMO Azca — Restaurant in Madrid

I have never posted an online review before this, however i felt that the complete disrespect and lack of customer service I received needed to be mentioned. I had selected to partake in the buffet that they offered (which I was very much looking forward to), but due to my religious beliefs (Islam) I do not eat Pork and I always ask whether a dish contains pork or not. The issue occurred when I asked the waiter whether a dish on the menu had pork in it and she replied very confidently that it did not. Lo and behold it did. I was pretty upset and the waiter did state they were new and apologized, however my appetite had gone and I stated that I will not be paying for the meal (which is the bare minimum from any restaurant when such an incident occurs). It was after this that I was taken a back when one of the managers had the audacity to state that it was not an allergy and I was not taken ill (thank god I wasn't someone who did have an allergy as it could have been much worse). After I expressed my shock at his remark he went on further to finally agree to me not paying the bill so long as I can prove my religious beliefs (at this point I actually started laughing with amazement). I have traveled to many places and interacted with people from all over, however the service at Sumo Azca was bar none the worst I have experienced. P.S they still charged me...

The quality has gone down ridiculously. We had a reservation for 1:30 pm(not very crowded at that hour) so there should be no excuse for all the reckless mistakes.

They were forgetting to get multiple orders, forgetting to add sauces to the multiple dishes that come with sauces (example: gyoza), missing portions from dishes (example: grilled shrimp came with 2 VERY small ones when the menu clearly states 3 and when Ive had them before they were much bigger pieces, gyozas also came with less than the amount they’ve stated on the menu).

This is not even the worst part… I ordered the rice with oyster sauce and the rice wasnt even cooked and it was soooo obvious that it wasnt fully cooked from the way it looked but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried it and had my friend try it and it was SO crunchy which shocked me because the restaurant wasnt even crowded so they had all the time to make sure it is cooked properly. Just by looking at it they could have noticed that it wasnt cooked. I have never ever had such a horrible experience in any restaurant like this especially. If it was one or two issues its not a big deal but to serve uncooked food?? That...

EVITAD ESTE SITIO por las personas que trabajan ahí sobre todo. La verdad que ha sido una experiencia nefasta. Nada más entrar nos avisaron que nos dejaban 30-45 mins para comer, y estuvimos de acuerdo porque estimamos que nos daría tiempo, siempre y cuando la comida saliese rápido. Lo que no sabíamos es que nos iban a presionar de una manera HORRIBLE, para comer cuantos antes. Nos quisieron retirar los platos!!!!, sin haber terminado, y cuando les dijimos que no habíamos terminado, una camarera insistió en que nos lo podría retirar, simplemente no quería escucharnos cuando le dijimos que NO. Mi pareja todavía estaba terminando el segundo, y no nos habían llegado los postres, cuando vinieron con el datafono a cobrarnos. Luego, y que fue la gota que colmó el vaso como para levantarnos e irnos, vino otra camarera (distinta a la que nos quería quitar la comida de la mesa) y me dijo (solamente se dirigió a mi porque mi pareja no entiende muy bien español): "queremos cerrar, así que...terminen rápido". No eran las 16.30, que es cuando cierran el local. Fue todo horrible! nos persiguieron para que no terminásemos de comer, y que ellos pudieran salir. De hecho, según pasaba algún camarero por nuestra mesa, se iba a la cocina, salía vestido de calle y salía por la puerta. Se ve que eran ordenes del jefe para hostigarnos antes de que se fueran. No pude soportar más la presión y la falta de respeto y decidimos salir, ....a lo que nos encontramos en la salida una familia que todavía estaban en la mesa con los segundos, y sin prisa ninguna (no sé cual era el caso). Es un sitio nefasto, malas maneras, los camareros irrespetuosos y la comida regular, yo ni comí...(a priori parecía comestible, pero resultaba dudosa por la textura y lo fríos que salían platos "calientes"). Vamos que, todos tenían ganas de pirarse y a nosotros nos arrearon para terminar cuanto antes. No sé si a los camareros les pagan mal entonces les tratan mal a los clientes, o porque no tienen ganas de trabajar, o simplemente porque son mal educados y su prioridad no es la satisfacción del cliente. Si alguien de la dirección del restaurante lee esta reseña, comentarte que tenéis un PROBLEMON, que vais a tener muchas perdidas por la mala gestión del restaurante, y que en un futuro no muy distante probablemente va a ser insostenible tener un negocio de hostelería de esta manera en...
