We stopped at La BotillerĂa for a glass of wine right when we realized Spain was experiencing an electricity outage that day, while we were on our way to the Royal Palace.
Even in the middle of that unexpected situation, the staff did their best to keep things going, which I really value and appreciate. They couldnât take card payments or heat any food, but they were still serving drinks and staying calm and welcoming. They set up little tables outside and continued to create a nice atmosphere, encouraging people to stay and enjoy the moment.
We had an Albariño that was absolutely delicious, and the view of Plaza de Oriente was stunning. Even though we didnât eat there due to the power outage, Iâd definitely recommend this placeâespecially if youâre looking for a relaxing spot to enjoy a coffee or a drink with a view. I imagine that under normal conditions, it would also be a lovely place for a meal. The inside looked charming too, but we sat outside and had a...
Read moreAbsolutely my worst experience of a restaurant in Madrid. Donât be fooled by the decor either!!!!! The service was absolutely appalling!!!!!- looked like the Manager who served us, didnât explain the food to us then claimed he didnât speak English! And even worse was when the food came out absolutely awful food! Chicken in salad was black and had a bad smell! Then even worse the baby squid came out and was shocking!!!!!! The smell again was vile and looked like On black rice!!!!!! He was so soo rude that we refused to eat the food but he wouldnât take it off the bill and then tried to charge us for another bottle of water! With a huge argument with still him Huffing and puffing he took the squid off and he saw we only had leaves of the salad, but again still charged us - please do not come here and ruin your experience of dining in Madrid as weâve been to some of the best restaurants eg. Tenconten, four seasons etc!!!!!!...
