We had read lots of good reviews regarding this restaurant so decided to try it. They do a tapas night on a Monday and Thursday so we decided to go ahead and book as we both love tapas. When I booked the table I informed they member of staff that my husband and I were vegetarians and asked if that would be an issue. He told me that this would not be a problem as there were vegetarian options for the tapas and that we could also mix and match items from the usual menu. We arrived for dinner, and I duly informed the member of staff that we were vegetarians. The look on her face said it all, I asked if this was a problem and she replied that yes it was. She then went on to say that if we wanted they could offer us some pasta. Given that I had checked when booking that there was not an issue with us being vegetarians, I did not expect to be told when we did arrive that it was a big issue. Cannot comment on the food as we did not stay for the "pasta". We were made to feel unwelcome and an inconvenience for daring to not to eat meat. In future make sure all your staff, including the "chef" are well informed regarding what exactly you are able to offer. If you are a vegetarian avoid this place...
Read moreThree minutes from the beachfront you might find this oasis in the culinary desert, so if you dare to get off beaten path you will be richly rewarded. I can highly recommend the garlic fried prawns -spicy and tasteful (you will need the recommended bread to taste the delicious olive oil it is served in). The hummus was served with some very crispy chips which worked well as an alternative to the traditional pita bread. I tried the slowly roasted leg of lamb which was tender and tasty (beware - it is a lot of meat for one person so you better show up hungry). The restaurant had a lovely relaxed atmosphere and a friendly staff who were as welcoming to children as their parens. The restaurant has a children's menu. Our four year old daughter loved her chicken/tuna croquettes which were a feast both for the eyes and the taste buds -glad whenever I see her enjoying alrernatives to spaghetti or hamburgers. You should definitely try their delicious desserts. The pinapple carpaccio served with ice cream was a real treat and my wife's appfelstrudel (which was a piece of art itself) proved to be the perfect way to conclude a...
Read moreYes 😊 If you find this restaurant, a bit hidden away from the crowded harbour streets, I`m sure you will remember it, and come back! We went here twice in a week, and we were not disappointed. If you like lamb, I strongly recommend the long-time cooked lamb leg, superb! The wine recommended to this dish was tasty and not too expensive. If you have space for dessert; Mohitosobet. You will not find anything like it somewhere else. Second time we had Dorade, again a very good meal, good wine recommendation. For dessert; Apfelstudel, enjoy 😊 I strongly recommend this restaurant, as a very good and peaceful option to the restaurants closer to the waterfront. The women in the kitchen know how to cook and do it with love! (And, just to let you know; You should find the toilets interesting, at least the lady’s room!) Thank you, El Patio. We...
