We sat down, and ordered icecreams from and the guy serving was genuinely excellent, we could not fault him at all.. there was no prices on display and the menu also omitted prices - but €7 euros for 3 scoops of moderately ok ice cream, is not bad - so fine, paid without an issue. It wasn't made clear to us that we couldn't just have the same offering as takeaway customers when we asked if we could sit down. The bill was given to us, well before my partner had finished her ice cream, but no gripes, we paid and things moved on.
We also decided to order drinks while having the ice creams - and this was not billed at the same time. When ordering, we clearly asked or a Coke Zero and was given a glass, with ice, of "Cola" - it was clearly not Coke from the taste, but no massive issue for me - I drank it and again, moved on.
When we asked for the bill, I noticed the prices in the menu were NOT what were being charged, they did not like being questioned on this either. The price was increased by nearly 100% and they claimed it was because I was given a large. (The bill clearly stated Cola and not Coke also)
They charged me €4.95 for the glass of Coke and the ice cube was about 30% of the glass alone. Price in the menu was clearly stated €2.50 (either is fine, with transparency)
I asked them to charge me the price in the menu, which I was happy to pay, and they disputed it - I said I would ask the Police to step in - and they went away and brought me the correct change. But not without a bit of rude confrontation from the manager, who got very much in my face (twice) and made rude gestures at me as I walked away (luckily other guests noticed this and looked at him in a very disapproving way.) I told him I would be leaving a bad review and he started shouting at me while I left. I am autistic, and kept my calm very well, albeit a bit shaky, there was no aggression at all from me.
I noticed from other reviews the manager seems to try this on with other customers too - please look...
Read moreTerrible experience: I made the mistake of not checking the reviews & got caught out. Restaurant looks very well from the outside & great location. Our waiter wanted us to buy an overpriced bottle of Pinot Grigio, but we had the House white which was fine. We started with the garlic prawns which were fine. Only fresh fish was Sama, large fish served in cutlets. We agreed to have that and I checked the price & was quoted per Kilo. When our main course came, it was dreadful, we got big chunks of fish, salad (?) & a few limp chips. DREADFUL When the bill came we were being charged for 700 grams each. No manager available to complain too & the waiter was rude & argumentative. He reduced the price of the fish to a Kilo worth, which I paid reluctantly. Who eats this amount of fish for their dinner. Shame on you for trying to over charge us. How do places like this exist and ruin people’s night out. Take my advice and lots of others that I have read since and eat...
Read moreService was dreadful - it was actually stress inducing watching the many servers run around like headless chicken. We were seated but provided with no menus. Other tables were served before us. Nearly 50min wait for food. Over 10mins for bill after asking multiple staff. Another ten for the change, which I had to ask for (it was over €15!). Only offered one drink, no check to see if we wanted another or our food was okay. A female server stood in front of my husband waving her arms right in front of his face whilst loudly talking with her colleague. Very rude.
Weirdly after seeing this total chaos the vegan paella was very good, albeit slightly expensive for €28 for two. Lots of vegetables and very tasty. Served traditionally at the table. Such a shame the chaotic service let them down. The chefs deserve better.
One member of staff was also not wearing a mask over their face and we noticed was constantly touching their runny nose/face, then serving...
