I genuinely do not understand how this place has a 4.4/5 rating. We inadvertently ended up here after trying to find Puerto del mar (both restaurants are in the same entrance, this one seems to make little attempt to advertise its name until you are given the menus) and I’d advise anyone to steer clear.
Whilst the daily menu is cheap, what you get is awful. We had a mixed salad and a prawn cocktail as our starters, which were devoid of any imagination and not fresh. Staff must have decided we wanted to continue looking at our unfinished starters as they sat untouched for a solid 30 minutes until the main event arrived. This felt far too long for what they were, fried chicken and chips, fried calamari and chips (nothing else). I had one calamari ring it was overcooked but, I’m not picky so I’d have shown some grit to get through them. However, my wife’s chicken was completely raw. When this was alerted to the first member of staff, she didn’t really seem to understand what the problem was, no embarrassment, no apology. We then told them we wanted to go, asked for the bill and told them we weren’t paying for it. We then got our bill and it was for the full amount, the head waitress then argued with us in front of the rest of the diners that we needed to pay for both meals. In the end we compromised and paid for a single meal (which was generous after eating 4 prawns, and a calamari ring).
It’s bad enough the blatant profiteering utilising a good location to serve terrible quality food but to show no shame in it and try to strong arm customers is another level. Please take my advice and swerve this one. Would...
Read moreNever the type to write a review but this place was awful. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful area and depending on where you’re seated, you could have an awesome view of the ocean. The staff was also nice. Although, the food is absolutely brutal! The pasta I had was overcooked and sloppy. Everyone else at my table didn’t enjoy their meals either. Fries are plain and bland, pork arrived uncooked, chicken was incredibly unseasoned… The list doesn’t end. THE FLAMBY DESSERT CAME FROM A GROCERY STORE AND WAS LITERALLY PRESENTED IN THE FOIL CONTAINER. Do not be fooled the by the...
Read moreProbably the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in Spain. I should have walked away when the waitress looked at us when we entered and continued to chat to her friends. We found ourselves a table by the window. The only way I can describe the food is like school dinners. No flavour, just plonked on to the plate. The ice cream was served to me in a plastic container with the lid still on! We did not feel welcome and there was no service whatsoever. The only reason I’m giving it 1 star is because...
