Bar Nosso: A Brazilian Gem in Palma de Mallorca My visit to Bar Nosso in Palma de Mallorca was a delightful surprise. After a boat trip, my friend Isaac and I were looking for a place to have dinner, and we found this Brazilian gem, offering a tapas and sharing plates concept, through Google Maps. Initially, we hesitated, but after seeing the menu and considering that other kitchens were closing soon, we decided to give it a shot. The ambiance of Bar Nosso is remarkably welcoming. With a design that combines sober tones of brown and green, the space is modern, inviting, and the tables are simply and efficiently arranged. Impeccable Service: We were warmly greeted by Mauricio, an exceptional host. He approached us in Spanish, and realizing our nationality (and perhaps my Brazil shirt, as he later joked), he quickly adapted to speak Portuguese, making the experience even more personal and comfortable. Mauricio was incredibly attentive, explaining every detail of the menu to help us make the best choices. Culinary Mastery: Chef Natália (Naty), Mauricio's wife, is the soul of Bar Nosso's kitchen, and her mastery is evident in every dish. To start, we ordered Gildas and bread. The warm bread, accompanied by seasoned butter, was a wonderful beginning. Isaac also ordered the Tomato with Stracciatella. The acidity of the stracciatella, combined with the sweetness of the tomato, created a perfect balance, ideal for starting the meal. For tapas, Isaac tried the Pork terrine (although I'm pescetarian, I had to try a tiny bit). The terrine was impeccably made, with a rib reduction that brought umami to the dish, wonderfully contrasting with the spicy carrot puree, which added a sweet and sour touch and texture. A true explosion of flavors. My initial choice was the Raw fish, ginger, lime and coriander. The incredibly fresh seabass, combined with the cilantro emulsion, provided an unimaginably refreshing sensation with every bite. It was so good that we asked for more bread to "soak up" the emulsion, a request Mauricio promptly accommodated. To finish the main courses, I chose the Parmentier, mushroom, Grana Padano cream, panko crumbs. I can say this was the highlight of the experience. The mushrooms had a perfect, simple texture, the potato puree with Grana Padano was incredibly creamy and savory, and the combination with the mushrooms and panko crumbs was enough to close your eyes and simply savor those complementing flavors. Divine Desserts: For dessert, we ordered the flan and the Chocolate mousse with salted caramel. The classic flan was very well made. But the star of the show was the chocolate mousse. More bitter, it allowed the caramel to take its rightful place in the dish. The very well-made and creamy caramel sauce, the firmer texture of the mousse, and the sprinkle of salt flakes on top gave the dessert perfect balance. Final Verdict: The combination of Mauricio's exceptional service and Natália's culinary mastery made us feel like we were in a fine dining restaurant, being incredibly well-attended and eating dishes prepared by a private chef. We left Bar Nosso not just as satisfied customers, but as friends, after an enriching conversation about food, immigrant life, dreams, and future plans. I highly recommend Bar Nosso and wish Mauricio and Natália all the success on...
Read moreSo good, we ate in this little bar/ restaurant TWICE during our week’s stay in lovely Palma..! The menu is concise so all attention is on quality. But, don’t be deceived by its brevity- it offers a nice variety of Sharing Plates with an International emphasis. All dishes were presented artistically- a feast for the eyes…but their beauty was followed through with great flavours- so they weren’t just Cheffy productions- each one packed a flavoursome punch. The couple behind this bar are friendly, hard working and very passionate about food. Decor is modern, minimalist but thoughtful and scrupulously clean. We tasted most of their menu during our two visits…. Favourites were the mushroom dish/ the pork/ the raw fish and the wickedly indulgent chocolate mouse with salted caramel sauce..!!! Lots of colourful cocktails were being mixed by Mauri for others - we were happy with the wine menu. Prices are fair but do reflect the quality and attention to detail. Treat yourself to this lovely experience- I think you will be as impressed...
Read moreWhat a great place, where do I start.... from the moment we walked in it felt right, we were made to feel really welcome and offered our choice of table. Barman/waiter was fantastic, really friendly and talked us through what they did, he clearly has a passion for this restaurant, the food and the drinks they serve. The drinks were great, made freshly and tasted great, the food..... amazing, small plates which allowed us to try 4 different dishes which were all fantastic. We wanted to try more but decided we will definitely be going back while we are in Palma so we saved some for then. Each dish was delicious, well presented and it was clear the barman/waiter really cared what he was serving us. We finished off with the egg flan which again was delicious. If you are in Palma and want lovely food in a great environment with people who care then you have to pay this place a visit. We will...
