Review: Bar Spoon - A Must-Visit in Mallorca! Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (10/10)
During our recent trip to Mallorca, my mum and I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Bar Spoon, not once, but twice, because it was simply that good. From the food to the service and atmosphere, everything was exceptional, and I’m excited to share why we had such a memorable experience.
Day 1 – A Feast to Remember On our first visit, we started with the Carbonara and Bruschetta Napoletana, along with some fried fish as appetizers. The appetizers were incredible, especially the fried fish, which came with strips of courgette. It was perfectly seasoned, crisp, and not overly oily – just the right portion for two. But the bruschettas stole the show! The combination of toasted bread topped with burrata, fresh tomatoes, garlic, basil, and parsley was next level. The flavors blended so beautifully, melting in your mouth with every bite. We even joked about recreating it at home.
The Carbonara did not disappoint either. Smooth, silky, and peppery, it struck the perfect balance – no scrambled eggs in sight! While Carbonara can be a bit on the salty side, it was well complemented by a sweet drink or water.
Day 2 – Even Better Than the First If I thought the first day was great, the second day was even better. We naturally had to order the bruschetta again, and for our mains, I opted for the Spaghetti di Mare while my mum chose the baked cod with mashed sweet potato and salad. Both dishes were to die for. The Spaghetti di Mare was rich in flavor – garlicky, juicy, with the right touch of parsley, and perfectly cooked mussels and shrimp. The pasta was fresh and thick, with a little hole in the middle, capturing all the delicious sauce. My mum’s baked cod was soft, tender, and paired beautifully with the garlic aioli and sweet potato mash – even as someone who doesn’t typically enjoy fish, I was impressed.
Outstanding Service and Authentic Flavors One of the highlights was the hospitality from Shirley, who was warm, attentive, and so fun to chat with. We bonded over our shared Colombian background, making the experience even more special. The food, rooted in authentic Italian recipes thanks to her Italian partner, felt like a genuine taste of Italy. While the price might be on the higher side (over 60 euros for two), every euro felt worth it, considering the quality and portions.

Read moreHonestly, I’ve been to many places around Europe, US and South America and I must say this is the best service I have received. We happened to come to Bar Spoon by accident. We were on our way restaurant around the block that apparently closed at 12 but when we arrived the staff said they were already closed. What a fortunate mistake. We walked in to Bar Spoon and were welcomed to take a seat. As we were looking through the menu the owner came over to us and gave us a recommendation. We went with it and it was delicious. After dinner he recommended a dessert that was out of this world. The entire staff was very attentive and hospitable. Today we couldn’t resist so we decided to come back again. As we walked in they treated us like they have known us for years after only meeting us once. I’d have to say this is the best place I have been to...

I had the carbonara pasta with truffle, and trust me, it was next level — rich, creamy, perfectly seasoned, and full of flavor. Hands down, a solid 10/10. You can really taste the love and authenticity in the dish. And the best part? The prices are super affordable for the quality you’re getting.
