Cafè Can Martí — Restaurant in Palma

As a chef of almost 20 years I can honestly say that today was the worst culinary experience of my life. It felt as though I was being punished for being British and given awful food at high cost.

We had the Pimientos Padron (which were ok) the tortilla patatas, and the queso curado. The latter two were served with soggy, inedible bread which was topped with some sort of salsa which smelled bad and had zero love or flavour. The olives were basic and unremarkable, the Tortilla was cold, basic and totally lacking in flavour and the cheese was cut into chunks which could have jammed a wood chipper.

This truly ruined my experience of Palma. I was very polite, and I tried to order everything in Spanish as to be as respectful as possible (as you should), and was met with contempt. When I pay high prices I expect high quality, and this was so far from any quality at all. It was a dire experience. The only thing that deserves a star is the gentleman who served us, who remained pleasant and helpful throughout. Expensive and overpriced for what was totally inedible food. Every ounce of my professional integrity and knowledge would implore you to stay well clear of this place. You'll find better food in some of the rubbish bins...

Cafè Can Martí is a good option for coffee as well as food. At lunchtime, pi can find a three-course meal (menu del día) at an accessible price, around €12. I went once there and try the “menu del día”, I ordered a salad as entrance, chicken fillet with wedges potatoes aside and I skipped the dessert because I was super satisfied. be aware that kitchen service ends at 4 pm. The food was tasty, the price was cheap and the service was kind. This is not the fancy kind of restaurant, it is more a local cuisine restaurant you might try. I am a tourist and I only paid 4,90€ for a coffee, fresh orange juice and pan con tomate. If the locals pay less than the tourists, I am not sure how they can make any profits! The food tasted good and I had a lovely spot on the outside terrace so happy with my experience there! Note to owner: gracias por su respuesta. Exactamente, es lo que estoy diciendo: los turistas pagan lo mismo que la gente local! Os di 5 estrellas, no me quejaba...
