Disappointing Experience at La Mujer de Verde
As a vegan family and avid foodies, we were excited to try La Mujer de Verde during our vacation in Palma de Mallorca. Unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected.
My wife ordered the enchilada, which was a huge letdown. Instead of the traditional soft flour tortilla, she was served hard triangular tortilla chips. The dish was missing the delicious flavor youād expect from well-prepared beans, and there was no melted vegan cheese to be found. While we werenāt expecting a classic presentation, we did expect a good taste, which was sadly bland and uninspired.
Our 8-year-old daughter, who loves pasta and is not a picky eater, ordered the penne pasta. The tomato sauce was extremely watery and tasteless, to the point where she found it inedible. This was a real disappointment, as pasta is usually her go-to comfort food.
I had their version of Persian Rice, which had a slightly better taste but was overly watery.
We barely touched our food, and when we brought our concerns to the attention of the waitress and the owner, we were met with indifference. The waitress claimed that the enchilada was authentic because the chef was Mexican, which I found hard to believe, having eaten authentic enchiladas in Mexico myself. When we mentioned the issues with the pasta, all we received was a nonchalant āIāll tell the chefā from both the waitress and the owner. No apologies were offered, and they didnāt even offer to comp the inedible pasta or offer a free dessert as a gesture of goodwill.
Weāve dined at other restaurants in Mallorca with vegan options that were far superior. Sadly, La Mujer de Verde did not live up to its promise, and we left feeling disappointed and hungry. I cannot recommend this restaurant to fellow vegans or anyone looking for a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI hate giving all vegan places less than 4 stars, but today is has to happen. I went for the Vietnamese Cauliflower soup as a starter, chimichurri tofu with red cabbage as a main and Hazelnut Remix for dessert.
The soup was tasty but nothing special and certainly I donāt know why they added āVietnameseā in front of it haha. It did taste like a good cauliflower and potato soup, heavily salted though! No special flavor reminding me of Vietnam or Asia at all.
Now the main course⦠a pure disappointment and possibly the worst dish Iāve ever had at a restaurant - and that at an all vegan place š¢ It was half a block of fried tofu, with some sauce. First of all: what a tiny and sad dish for a main course. Second: the taste was bad. The tofu was hard and dry on the outside, the inside was super chewy and not soft at all. The sauce: tasted like a combo of mustard and red wine. Thatās it. Thatās the dish. Tofu. Sauce. No veggies, nothing.
The dessert was amazing though and, possibly the best Iāve ever had at a restaurant! It was a chocolate shell filled with divine cream and a center of an even better cream š¤¤
All in all I would only go back for the dessert. The service was, nevertheless, super friendly but seemed to be a bit overwhelmed when I told them I basically hated their main dish. They just laughed it off.
Decide for yourself what you want to make with this review - if you go: definitely donāt choose the tofu dish but do choose Hazelnut remix...

Run & welcomed by daughter of the owner with smiles & open arms, a small but well formed restaurant serving food that puts a lot of other establishments on the island to shame! & itās vegan! Not vegan myself but coming here I donāt miss is one bit. Super healthy, great tasting & innovative food & at prices (superb value for little money) that again put other places well & truly in the shadows. We had a selection of starters including cauliflower vichysois with pear, ceviche of courgette, Followed by a superb meze platter, inc tandoori with basmati rice & tofu to die for, free filtered water & a welcome drink (nice touches) & drinks prices again puts a lot of other places to shame. Simple clean cut menu that just shouted FRESH! Staff were extremely welcoming & made us feel so at home. I canāt recommend this place enough! Trust me, if youāre a meat eater or not, this venue is all about the food being the hero regardless of contents, making fresh, feel better for it food, with superb service & over all value for...
