El Mentidero — Restaurant in Pamplona

I asked the staff working for some vegeterian pinchos. Two customers eating at the bar heard me and started yelling at me "why you don't eat pork. if you are here in Pamplona, eat pork or leave the city. don''t be here" in front of the staff. I asked the staff for help and they ignored me. I explained that I'm vegeterian and I don't want any trouble and in response, they started pushing me, yelling "eat the pork or get out". I asked the staff for help and to call the police, to which the manager of the restaurant told me "EAT YOUR FUG POTATOES AND PAY YOUR FUG BILL AND GET OUT BECAUSE THIS IS NORMAL HERE". In the end the police was called and the staff LIED TO THE POLICE saying that they did not see or hear what happened. Si eres de fuera, mejor no entres aquí. Entramos porque era jueves y en la pizarra ponía una oferta de pintxo y cerveza por 3€. Cuando nos pedimos la cerveza nos dijo que esa oferta no estaba disponible porque su mujer dijo que al ser Semana Santa no era posible. Por tanto, solamente nos pedimos la cerveza. Empezó a preguntarnos qué de donde éramos y a ser muy simpático por lo que nos dijo que al final la oferta si nos la iba a hacer, que nos pidiéramos el pintxo que quisiéramos. Total, todo bien hasta que fue el momento de pagar y se puso a hacer la cuenta… nos cobró casi el DOBLE de lo que pedimos, no nos dio ticket ni nada y encima nos dijo que nos “invitaba a dos bebidas”… obviamente no era invitación porque ya nos lo había cobrado. Nos dijo que al final la oferta no estaba disponible porque así lo había dicho su mujer. A la mesa de al lado que si eran de Pamplona, les cobró la mitad que a nosotras aún habiendo pedido lo mismo, se lo dijimos y nos dijo “es que era otra cosa diferente”. It was our first time trying Pinchos while walking the Camino. In Hungary we don't know this meal so it was something really exotic to us. The Venezuelan gentleman introduced us to the local version of tapas and it was amazing! Delicious food and exceptional service for a fantastic price.
