Al Amir Libanés & Shisha — Restaurant in Puerto de la Cruz

I took off one star solely for the lack of attentiveness from the staff. I was looking over their direction many times to no avail. I don't like people calling out loud to a waiter. I feel they sauntered around and the vibe was like a teenage in their first jobs when the boss isn't looking. Compared to other eateries I thought the staff here could make the effort to be more productive and attentive to the customer as they are enjoying their meal. It was quiet only 2 more small tables so for me there was no excuse.

Food was tasty. Would have liked some form of sauce or dip with the grill as meat was a bit dry. Portions were decent. The cheese flatbread starter was very nice. Lebanese rice very good and the lemon potato. I should have asked for no coriander I didn't expect it on the dish but God I really do hate the stuff.

Tonight we visited this restaurant. We were 6 people 4 adults and 2 kids. The staff were very sweet and friendly. They spoke good English. we ordered the starters like humus with meat, Fatteh with meat, Fatoush and baba ghanoush with bread. I am a Lebanese food addict, so I know how the taste of each dish should be. The taste of every dish were amazing. Then we ordered the main courses. The main dishes were so good as the starters. I ordered Maqluba which is a mix of vegetables and rice and lamb and chicken. The rest ordered mix grill. The taste of main dishes specially maqluba was amazing. With the drinks which they made 2 big jugs of virgin mojito and other drinks it cost us 91 euros which is very good comparing to the amount of food and taste and great service. We visit this restaurant because of the TripAdvisor's recommendation, so probably our expectations were too high. Service was good without any problems, but nothing special. Communication in english is not a problem here. We ordered a chicken and beef meat with several side dishes. It tasted good, we never had a lebanese food before. But chef propably underestimated the preparation of our meal. Meat was touhg and potatoes were cold. After all it wasn't bad experience however we expected something more for 15 euros per person.
