They Robbed me here WARNING Don’t go !! They over charged us huge and charged us for things we didn’t order. Server was very aggressive as well. Huge mistake we could have had a good meal anywhere else in town for the price instead of getting what I consider criminal theft and inferior food. Ok we were in town a couple days & walked past this place many times- we already ate but thought before leaving town to go try their “Especial Tapa Mixa” platter. I specifically got up and pointed to this to the waiter, right underneath the sign was a plate with the price of $22.50€ ( but when we got our bill they OVER CHARGED US 31.50€ )- so we waited and out came a different waiter with bread and aioli ( that we didn’t order- and didn’t know that it was AN EXTRA CHARGE - we assumed it was with the special tapa platter that we ordered- first RIP OFF ) then came a platter - but it was no at all like the one I ordered in the advertising picture. The one in the picture looks good the one we got was almost all potato’s of different kinds. Basically no seafood except a few pieces of those pre-cooked frozen mussels in a rice thing, a few chinked wings 3, and some sour disgusting meatballs 3-4, oh yeah there was 1/4 hotdog slices with some other type of potato. As I said the advertised price for what I ordered was 22.50€ - I got CHARGED 31.50 plus the Bread I Didn’t ORDER + the tax on these!! Do yourself a favour- go up or down the stairs and eat anywhere it will be of way more honest value and better- I like potatoes but a platter of 70% of them...
Read moreStumbled upon this place purely by chance as it was on my walking route to town from my accommodation. Wow, what an awesome way to have tapas, the variety available, which differs every day, and the quantity received for the price you pay was definitely worthwhile. First and foremost, a small place with tables set up on the footpath and viewing platforms right near the centre of town is a super convenient location. The venue itself is clean, bright, and inviting and has a vibe to it that makes you want to stop there. Of course I did. Secondly, the service staff are friendly and professional. They obviously care for what they do and do it well. Thirdly, the food and bev, wow, can't say too much here other than that! When you get a Platter, you get a platter. There are your standard favourites such as Paella, croquettes, albondigas, and a variety of others. And then there are some interesting offerings, ceviche, slow cooked chicken, variety of vegetable stews and sauteed, delicious potato salads and others. One of the local beverages of the Canary Islands is the Barraquito, a delicious sweet alcoholic coffee that's best drank post meal as it's sweet and warm and definitely gets the party started. So good. I had 2 here, and they made it perfectly. I wish this drink was available worldwide standard. it's that good. I am so glad I ate here. My only regret is that I didn't eat here multiple times. Muchas gracias,...
Read moreWe had walked past it a few times the last days and were pleased to finally catch a table. The food looked tasty and we're big fans of Tapas, so this should be our place. How could we be so wrong. The waiter asked us for any allergies. I said that I was vegetarian and he told me that they have a lot of vegetarian tapas. Our mixed plate would be half vegetarian, half meat. The they brought our food. Fried Octopus rings, chicken legs, rabbit, meatballs, paella (with mussels), lentils with chorizo and pork?, moussakka and a salat with mayo. So one of all the dishes was vegetarian. I ate it, because I didn't want the food to be thrown away when saying something, but I was disappointed. I'm not a "hardcore" vegetarian and I don't like to waste food, but for other people it might be different. Felt like a punch in the face. And in the end only two of the Tapas were tasty. The other ones tasted a bit old, not well spiced, just not delicious.
So I rate two stars for the nice sangria and the two delicious tapas. Wouldn't...
