Tu Burger — Restaurant in Puerto de la Cruz

Tu burger was my first burger experience on Tenerife at Puerto De La Cruz, and wow, it made me have to rethink how I review burgers as this was genuinely the best burger I had ever had. I didn't just want a regular burger, I wanted a local burger, and that is what I got, and it blew my mind. First and foremost, the venue seems touristy, and that was a potential turn off, however I learned that it used to be a bar years ago and they just didn't really bother changing the layout and decor, which is fair enough. Honestly, if it is a touristy place, sign me up as it's one of the better touristy places I've ever been to. It's a bright, clean venue right on the main street of the modern side of town with plenty of outdoor seating plus some indoor bar stools and seating. Very friendly and accommodating staff. A fantastic menu selection including tapas, etc, however I came for burgers and beer, and that is what I got. Excellent quality of ingredients used, the variety of taste and textures was just astonishing, using goats cheese and almogrote and different Mojo on burgers will now make normal burgers seem boring and plain to me. If you are visiting Puerto de la Cruz and want somewhere to watch the Football forget the English bars. You have everything here.

We visited during our post-cruise stay in a nearby hotel, and we were looking for somewhere to watch the Manchester City match. We watched that match, then watched the Newcastle match and then the Arsenal match. Pretty much they accommodated anything we asked for.

We ordered Nachos and together we had 8 pints of lager and 4 pints of cider. The whole bill came to around €45. By comparison we paid 8 euros for 2 drinks I an English bar further up the same road.

The bar is Spanish owned and they have basic English, but Google translate can help out if you need to ask for something more complicated.

We were made to feel so welcome and the food is delicious so we returned the following day to watch the Manchester United match.

We didn't have burgers on this occasion as we were half board and the portion sizes were big on the burgers, but they looked and smelled amazing so I assume they were to die for.

The service was fantastic. Not once did I have to leave my seat. As soon as my glass was empty I was offered another drink and it was brought quickly.

The cleanliness in the bar was second to none. Everything was spotless and tables were wiped immediately as soon as someone left.

We ordered 2 burgers for children, 2 burgers for adults (1 really big burger), 1 fish of the day, 1 cup of white dry wine.

Children burgers were served in specific very interesting pack with candies inside. This one children really appreciated. Also, we didn’t wait long and waiter made all the best to serve us good.

All others were really terrible. Wine was brought without the bottle, we didn’t see what is the source in our glass. Taste of wine was like 50/50 with water. I asked to change, they changed, the other one was almost the same quality.

My wife ordered fish. Fish was not fresh, bad smelling. I asked to take it away (later they tried to include fish in a bill😅.

My burger was like 3 floor burger, looks quite good, but the taste is extremely bad. I tried a lot of burgers, but this one is very low quality one. I was very hungry and was forced to eat half of it. Later got a brash after this food😔
