Sat on the terrace opposite the restaurant which has a beautiful view. Basically a number of problems, staff not friendly, ordered a glass of wine and honestly the amount was tiny... Totally not a normal / reasonable amount but not the end of the world right. Then the food came, patas bravas (undercooked) and a salmorejo which was not casero and just tasted like it was purchased from Dia, really thick and sickly. Next "fun thing" a massive parasol came crashing onto our table and just missed my head. The waitress came out and literally just did nothing .... Fiddled with it a bit and put it back up... Then 10 minutes later it happened again 😭😭😂😂 Totally avoid it's dreadful.
Edit: Update to review!! We sat and watched to see if they would sort the massive umbrella that just missed cracking my skull 💀 see added pictures of waiter putting umbrella down so it doesn't take out one of the next...
Read moreWorst experience I've ever had in my life. We ask for 4 pieces of cake: 1 red velvet and 3 lemon pies. The lemon pies were DISGUSTING, should be named as "sugar pies" instead of lemon pies. But the cherry on top was the service: we ask for an extra spoon and the employee was absolutely rude and unprofessional. He threw the spoon on the newspaper that was on the table and came out complaining. When we asked for a new spoon because we weren't going to use a spoon that was thrown that way, he started attacking us complaining that we ordered 4 pieces of cake so we couldn't have 5 spoons. Apparently you CAN'T SHARE food in this place. He treated us poorly, did offensive comments and hand gestures. This place should not be allowed to serve...
Read moreThis café is a wonderful place to take it easy, have a delicious Spanish meal (their huevos rotos is a great equivalent for a breakfast/brunch option - fried eggs on a savoury mound of potatoes + onion cooked in olive oil and thinly sliced serrano ham with a sprinkle of Spanish red paprika). The Cuban music in the background and the classic theatre café look add to a very comfy atmosphere. It even has a book corner for those looking to read their book over café con churros. The waiters are efficient and friendly (in my view), also happy to let me speak in my so-so Spanish (I asked them to only use Spanish). Menus in English are available, I was told. I would definitely be a regular if I lived...
