Went there today for dinner and it's actually one of the best food experiences I've ever had. Put it simply the staff were lovely (especially compared to the bars on the beach where they are literally dragging you into their bar (and I mean literally!)), they were there whenever you needed but not on top of you the whole time. Polite and in a seemingly cheerful mood, really couldn't fault any of them. The food was absolutely lush! I had the pie And I could honestly suggest it to anyone. The meat just fell apart and the gravy was delicious. I'm actually gutted I couldn't finish but it was so filling! As for the price, I'd seen a few reviews saying it was pricey but I don't get where they are coming from! Two of us has a drink each, a starter each and a main each which came to £40. If we hadn't been full we had eyed up a dessert each which would have taken us to £50. Honestly for the excellent service, and we'll cooked, delicious, filling grub I think this is completely fair. To be honest if I wasn't a broke student I would have tipped all the change...
Read moreWent last night after reading the reviews and must say I wasn't disappointed. Only thing I would say Is book if you can. We hadn't booked but a friendly lady said she'd fit us in as soon as she could. We waited on a small table and ordered drinks. We waited 10 mins tops. But it gave us plenty of time to pick what we wanted to eat. It's a varied menu but not too much choice which makes it easier. Me and my partner settled for burgers and a side of onion rings. Washed down with a jug of sangria. This is by far the best food we've had all holiday. Really thick meaty burger with no fat. Lovely fresh bread bun and good chips. Best onion rings I've had in a long time. Sangria was one of the best we've had also. As you can probably tell we really enjoyed. Atmosphere relaxed but lovely as no loud music and a lovely setting. Obviously didn't try anything else but all the other food that came out to other tables looked good. ALL staff who we spoke to were really friendly...
Read moreI was fortunate to meet Chris recently and enjoyed his company, so when it was announced his bar was re-opening tonight I decided to pop down and give him my support - plus I was gagging for some home made British/Irish fayre. I’ve been living in Barcelona and Salou for three years now and their Steak and Guinness pie was fantastic and easily the best I’ve had in Cataluña. Trouble is there is so much more on the menu I would like to try but it will be hard to ignore the pie again when I will undoubtedly return. I popped into the kitchen when I was leaving to thank Rachel for my meal and their kitchen was immaculate. That’s a great indicator that a place cares about every aspect of the business, and has pride in their food. So with a great set of staff (mentions to Sinead for her friendly service), and a warm and inviting atmosphere coupled with a lovely outside patio, they certainly have found the winning formula....
