First of all, I have been a resident of the island for many years and speak Spanish so the menu was no problem for me. On realising my girlfriend would be more comfortable with an English menu the waiter brought an iPad over with an English menu.... Very nice touch. Decided to have the eggplant fries with honey to start off with as it is a very different take on a very bland vegetable. Let me tell you it was a serious eye opener on the versitility of said veg. Followed by an amazing steak and bravas potato for myself and my girlfriend opted for secreto ibérico and bravas potato. The sauces and sides were perfect for the dish. And then the waiter decided to bring a random sauce that was not asked for (I believe he saw how much we enjoyed the other sauces)... It was even better than the aforementioned. After clearing our plates we ordered the carrot cake which was not the normal carrot cake I have experienced but much lighter with a more mellow flavour. A welcome light finish to a great experience. I have raved about the food but I must not sidebar the service provided by a friendly and quite clearly competent staff. The service was fast but not rushed. The drinks were served out of the spirit bottle from the tray at your table with a smile. It is certainly a must and I will be back. Thank you all at La Perrera for the...
Read moreLa Perrera is an interesting restaurant, it offers a fusion cuisine centered around Spanish tapas.
Immediate turn off was that one of our party couldn’t eat coriander, and we let the server know. She dismissed it in a way that it’s not possible and that coriander is in every dish. It turned out to be true, but yet it was only sprinkled on every dish- which would’ve been a very easy thing to remove by simply not adding it to the dish.
The dishes overall ranged from great to average, with nachos in particular being a pathetic dish. These nachos must’ve been the saddest nachos I’ve ever had to taste. Bao bun was meant to have kimchi, yet the closest thing to kimchi in it was some pickles. Whilst it was an overall ok dining experience, none of the dishes or the service made me feel like I would...
