When we came here and we were checking the menu on the table, some other people came and stole our table with the waiter taking it. When we asked what happened and that we were there first, he said he thought we were together with them and he suggested another table (to be cleaned up for us). He told us to wait for him to prepare it. Meanwhile somebody else came and took one of the tables so we went to sit on the last free but dirty table. We were waiting for a long time for the mentioned waiter to come and in the end we needed to call for him to attend us. We chose menu del dia (12.5€). The food was okay, but the service amazingly slow. It took us 1.5h to finish the visit. And there was a problem with desert. We asked what was included and were told that we could order tarta de queso. Another waiter came and said it wasn't included. And then the first one finally came with it saying sometimes it's included, sometimes not but this time it is.
Generally, the menu was okay, tarta de queso was the best, the price was good for the location ( next to the cathedral) and the views were good. Service slow, not really...
Read moreA wonderful restaurant which visitors should definitely seek out (the interior is inside and up a set of stairs, so we had to look hard for it the first time), just across the plaza from the cathedral shop. The food and drink are amazing--we've ordered something different every time, both savory and sweet crepes, and they've all been not only delicious but so huge we had to take half of them home for another meal later! And their homemade drinks are memorable--real brewed hot chocolate, iced sangria with either red wine or white wine, and more. A special shout-out to our server Andres, who was enormously helpful not only on our first visit, but on subsequent visits when he wasn't even assigned to us :) This place quickly became a favorite with us (we also had a 3-year-old in a stroller with us, which they accommodated effortlessly), and we'll return every time we visit Santiago. Prices...
Read moreI had eaten here 2 years ago and the food was great. I brought some friends this year and apparently, although the sign said they were open, a woman sweeping the entrance yelled at me for asking if they were open. She was so rude, saying "WHAT DO YOU WANT" in Spanish, I responded, my friends and I would like to eat here. She yelled at us, saying they weren't open and had to prepare the food. I'm disappointed this place had such poor service - although the food is good, I will...
