I selected this restaurant due to the description on the Michelin Guide site. We arrived at 20:00 sharp, were the second table seated, but then the last table served. The food was ok. Some of the dishes (especially the cockles) were quite good. But the clams were over powered by their sauce. The octopus and fish was good too. But, the 13 Euro broccoli was cooked to a mush. It reminded me of the veggies my mom used to cook - always melt in your mouth. Also, the waiter recommended the house wine to all of the tables in the restaurant. It was mediocre - at best. Unbalanced acids with almost no fruit. But they have their name on it, so I'm sure the margin is higher. Which leads me to the overall analysis of the restaurant: they are aggressively for profit, and don't care much for the customer's experience. Another example: when I mentioned that we had only eaten a small bit of the broccoli and that it was cooked to a mush, the waiter's response was, "yea, we don't specialize in cooking vegetables". No offer to take it off the bill. Then when we finished eating (one of the last tables to finish, because we were served last), the waiter offered us coffee and after dinner wine. We accepted. Then about 3 minutes later, he informed us that we had to leave - our reservation time had expired.
Don't go here. There are far too many good places in Santiago...
Read moreWent last Friday after visiting the Mercado de Abastos. Had a couple of beers in the sun before moving the the bar area instead of the restaurant. It had a long table where people had to share the space and sit oposite each other. Menu was displayed on the screens and we were informed it was always changing depending on what was available on the market. The waiter asked if we wanted to order from the menu or let go surprise us. My friend doesn’t eat fish or seafood so she ordered from the menu while I opted for a surprise . We had oysters, some type of scallop/mussels, octopus, fish empanada , pork tacos & local cheese with crackers. Everything was wonderful , true delight to the taste buds.the octopus was one of the best I had on my trip and it was 6th time I’ve had it in 2 weeks. Everything was super fresh as the restaurant boasts about not having fridges since the market is its fridge. Wish I had a chance to return to the restaurant for dinner service, nevertheless it was well worth a visit and one of my culinary highlights of the stay in Santiago...

The food is really really good, even the kids fish and chips was incredible - made with monkfish fillets.

We had a similar meal in one of the restaurants inside the market hall and yes, it was a bit cheaper, maybe 10-20% less but it was not as good as this place which really...
