La Jefatura — Restaurant in Santiago de Compostela

What a wonderful spot, food absolutely amazing but what made our night was the atmosphere and the delightful Marko. We were so well looked after and kept entertained all evening, in fact all the staff we came across took us under their wings and looked after us. If visiting this amazing city then you must go here for dinner. Be warned though, we were lucky to get a table, you may need to ring ahead and book one? Can't wait to come back again later this year! 5 Star 🌟!

*2022 Update * Finally made it back to Santiago and came straight here for dinner. Thankfully Marko and the gang looked after us as great as before, honestly love this place. Well the food was excellent. It’s really a big surprise to find this quality within this spot where you usually find tourists being scammed. But I’m from Galicia and the octopus was quite decent (for the average restaurant standards). Oil could be improved but I can’t complain.

Peppers and croquettes were outstanding.

Salad was really good too, bread was incredibly good.

Service though was awful, waiters were just a plain disaster and didn’t have much idea.

Atmosphere wasn’t the best. The ground floor is sort of ok but the basement has no windows and the decoration is horrible.

Unfortunately I can't say anything good about the restaurant. There is a star for the great chef. He should look for a new kitchen. The food didn't come together very sporadically from a wait of over an hour. As long as you are starving or eat your fill of bread (what you pay for). The service is also the most unsympathetic in all of Spain and we traveled through Spain for over a month. I can't understand the other good stars at all.
