It's a really good place to enjoy Spanish food. The prices are reasonable and the host, Manolo is friendly and has an interesting personality. The quality of most tapas, especially pork, spinach and cheese, is great. I particularly recomend the spinach with four cheese. Fish tapas understandably are not so great, but still are eatable. My experience tells me that one should eat fish in Spain only in expensive restaurants as high quality fish must be quite expensive on the market, so it's unrealistic to expect great fish in cheap places. I definitely recommend Bodega Santa Cruz in Seville. P.S. The next day I visited the bodega again to explore more. I discovered that the food isn't the only ingredient that makes it so special. Very quickly I realized that I missed something there. I missed the host, Manolo. The other guys who substitute him there need to learn a lot from him. That is how to relate to the guests, when and whom to give a few pieces of bread and olives free or crack a joke. Having said that I must admit I discovered more delicious stuff there. All tapas from pork are very good and shrimps are also OK. The bodega serves also nice vermouth which is slightly expensive, but it's worth the price.

Only one world to describe this place. Authentic. You might feel a little overwhelmed at peak times by the dynamism of this place, but you soon will sync into it and you’ll be amazed by the efficiency, incredibly homemade food and drinks… plus the old school atmosphere makes you realise how simple was going out eating in the past: no reservations, no queues, not hours till you get some food… at botega Santa Cruz first arriving get served and if there are no more tables, don’t you worry, they’ll make a little spot for you at the counter. If you’re not willing to get into this atmosphere stay away, this is not the right place for you, you’ll find plenty touristic restaurants around the area. I’ve been there 6-7 times in 4 days, here’s my favourites: Almejas con vino (clams) Boquarones fritos (fried anchovies) Gambas fritos (fried prawns) Carillada (braised beef cheeks)

Decent experience, definitely a hyped place. I reckon you could have the same experience at any other tapas bar in the area. I got here at 6:30pm and it wasn’t busy. Just walked in, found a menu and ordered. Staff seemed busy, they aren’t very accommodating but they’re doing their job well. Just order at the bar. Food came instantly and there were a few tables outside (albeit dirty ones). The vibes honestly weren’t great, but sitting on the street is nice. The food itself was good, but not incredible. I ordered the pringa, the pork shoulder, and the jamon iberica. The pork shoulder was quite good, but very very oily. Like I said, I honestly believe you can get just as good of food anywhere else, it was very basic. If I were you, I would just walk around in this area and find somewhere with a nice vibe. Reviews will only take you so far.

What a rush at this place! We were told that this is one of the highest rates Tapas place in Seville and we got to know why once we were here! There were people everywhere...! Some very lucky ones got a place to sit inside, some stood outside and the other were just waiting to squeeze through! Theere is a main kitchen that prepares the food and passes it on to the 4-5 serving staff stading at the counter.... If you did not get a place to sit, you will have to go to the counter yourself to fetch the Tapas and the drinks and pay then and there at the counter. The menu is only in Spanish. The food is absolutely amazing! The portions are small and so is the cost. One can try many different types of Tapas at a very nominal cost! Just make sure to get a place to sit or stand wherever you find some space! A must visit but do not expect luxury ;)

Mala experiencia. No volvería a ir.
