WOW WOW and some more WOW. The BEST tapas I've had since Valencia. I happened upon this hidden gem as I was exploring the little streets of Santa Cruz. As I passed I got feel to go in. Super inviting from the door well. The outdoor area is a wonderful garden terrace with a beautiful lemon (🤔) tree in the courtyard. A gentle spray of water every so often gave a tropical feel to the place. Not only was there ambiance the food was unreal. I opted for 3 tapas all for meeeee. First up the spinach croquettes were a taste explosion. The ox tail and eggplant millifullie was succulent and the tail melt in the mouth. Best ox tail I've ever had and the quail egg added a little something. I don't like my eggs runny but I imagine that a runny egg would heighten the texture. Last up the pórk cheek. Effing 'ell that was out of this world. My first time ever to have pork cheek and it was that awesome I don't know if my expectations will ever live up to it again. Overall I was beyond impressed and satisfied. The toilets were imacculate and the bit I saw of the interior restaurant looked rustic and lovely vibe also. The waiting staff were busy and direct but same time friendly and the lady especially...
Read moreWe booked for 8 PM. We arrived just before 8PM and the restaurant was closed. We looked in and there were staff members milling around prepping tables. No one came to the door to reassure us they were open and we wouldn't have to wait long. At 8:15 PM they finally opened the door to a dozen or more customers without the hint of an apology. We were on the verge of leaving. The older staff are abrupt and rude. We had 2 dirty knives on our table and politely asked if they could be replaced. They were snatched off the table by an older member of staff and clean ones virtually thrown back on. The younger staff are by in large lovely but the older ones are awful and although the food was not at all bad we will never go back and will advise others to avoid this restaurant. There are many, many great restaruants in Seville and we look forward to trying...
Read moreThe atmosphere here is great. I loved sitting in their little courtyard surrounded by nature. The food, on the other hand was so so. I got the seasoned tomatoes, which were actually quite good, but then I got this shrimp bean egg mound that.... was ok. It sounded interesting, so I thought I'd try. To be fair, the food on other people's plates looked quite a bit better than what I got. As far as the service, I'm not sure what was going on, but it seemed like one guy was mad at the other guy for sitting me (a solo diner) in the courtyard rather than inside, which is fine, but he chose to carry out this tiff right in front of my face, with wild gesticulations and pressured speaking. I had to laugh, but it did put me out a bit. All in all, I probably wouldn't come back, but for a decent meal in a good atmosphere right outside the Alcazar, this place...
