The chef of this restaurant is on their way to achieve a Michelin star that is for sure however some of the dishes need to be refined to get rid of the rough edges on the flavours. We ordered cold gazpacho to start with. It was incredible. The coconut icecream in the centre with the cured tuna cubes were music to my taste buds and the soup was bursting full of flavour. The goat cheese dish can be improved however though, the sauce underneath the walnut did not pair well with the goat cheese in my opinion and the server asked us to wait before diving into the dish to allow the cheese to soften in due course. The cheese did soften after a bit but id prefer if the cheese was already at room temperature and soft when served. The steak was cooked to perfection! The blue cheese foam was a nice pairing to the meat however id like some cooling elements in this dish to counter the fatty potatoes, beef and blue cheese foam sauce. However overall it was an amazing experience and would definitely recommend this restaurant. Last but not the least the service was excellent with friendly waiters and waitresses. And the decor in this restaurant...
Read moreReally disappointed in this place. I booked for my husband’s 30th birthday as I’d found the restaurant in the Michelin guide so had high hopes. I made it clear beforehand that it was for a special occasion hoping it would at least be acknowledged, but it wasn’t. The food is extortionate and absolutely laughably tiny portions. I understand it’s supposed to be a pretentious dining experience, but to be honest the food was neither quality or quantity really. I also requested the rooftop terrace ahead of time which was confirmed with the restaurant, and then upon arriving was told that this was “not possible” with the insinuation that I had misunderstood, even though I had an email trace of the conversation. We visit Michelin guide restaurants for special occasions regularly and this was by far the worst across the board. Really regretted coming here pretty much after walking through the door but it felt too late to leave. Anyone considering visiting this place, don’t waste your money - go to Mokambo Alfalfa instead and get twice the amount of food for half the price and a stellar experience and atmosphere to match. We wish we...
Read moreWe came on a Thursday night at about 730pm and the restaurant was not crowded. Overall the food quality was really good, the natural flavors of the ingredients can be tasted. The ambience of the restaurant was nice and quiet. Perhaps it was still early at 730pm, there were only 2 tables occupied with guests.
What stopped me from giving the full 5 stars was the service. I cannot complain, the service standards was there, service was prompt and there were at least 3 or 4 service staff around us. What was lacking was the warm and enthusiastic service that we have seen in some other Spanish restaurants over the past week. While service here was good, it was impersonal, no passion or feelings, I would say very in-Spanish.
Credit to the chef who did a great job with the dishes. Tuna tartar was fresh. Artichoke carpaccio was a masterpiece paired with cheese and ham, the flavours complimented each other. The risotto was also nicely executed, al dente and flavors were there.
Overall a great...
