9 things to do in Seville Spain (day one) 🇪🇸 Save this for your next visit! Day one itinerary for my trip to Sevilla in Andalusia! I didn’t land until past midnight the night before so this was an easy, breezy chilled day mostly spent walking around and getting my bearings! 1. Mercado de Triana Over in the Triana area over the river is this local market full of fresh produce. There are cafes, restaurants and little souvenir stores here too. Closed on Sundays and open 9am - 3pm from Monday - Saturday! 2. Walk around Barrio de Santa Cruz Sevilla is unbelievably beautiful and it’s a very walkable city! This neighbourhood is the former Jewish Quarter and this Old Town is where you’ll find Seville Cathedfal, Royal Alcazar and Giralda Tower too 3. Lunch at La Brunilda Tapas Thank you for the recommendation to come here! Traditional tapas with a twist - prices are reasonable, the food was delicious and booking is essential! 4. Torte del Oro (aka Tower of Gold) a 36 metre high tower build in the 12th century. You’ll find this overlooking the banks of River Guadalquivir! Tickets are €3 to climb up and open from 9:30-6:45pm on weekdays (and 10:30am on weekends) 5. Plaza de España A BEAUTIFUL plaza within María Luisa park. Enjoy the rowing boats, the canal and Spanish Renaissance architecture 6, Stroll around Parque de María Luisa A beautiful park along the river with tree-lined paths and ponds! 7. Flamenco show A visit to Seville wouldn’t be complete with a flamenco show! No cameras allowed. I booked my tickets for £17 from Flamenqueria Sevilla in the Triana neighbourhood 8. Bar Triana Stumbled upon this tapas bar in Triana! Huge portions, traditional tapas, fresh fish and seafood caught that day and Sevillan local delicacies including iberico pork cheeks! 9. Ice cream at Rayas #seville #sevilla #sevillespain #andalucia #andalusia #spain🇪🇸 #spaintravel #spaintrip #europetravel #europedestinations #europe_vacations #sevillagram #sevillacity #sevillaspain #sevillasecreta #europesummer #andalucia_monumental #flamenco #trianasevilla

After reading other reviews on here and other reviews sites, La Brunilda Tapas was high on my list and I am delighted I got the opportunity to visit. Like other reviews have mentioned, you have to get there earl y to secure a place if you do not have a reservation and unfortunately the online reservation system will not accept single person reservations. I arrived at 8.10pm and there were already 4 people in the line. I secured a place at the bar which was great and the bar staff, although incredibly hard working and busy were very attentive and eager to help with recommendations. I tried three tapas Buñuelos de Bacalao, salt cod fritters which were flavourful and wonderfully crisp. Presa de cerda, a pork dish served on sweet potato which tasted superb and was presented like a work of art and the star of the show for me the Solemillo de Ternera, beautifully cooked sirloin served on thyme roasted potatoes. This was my favourite dish of my week in Seville. Make your way behind the blue door, you won't be disappointed.

Came back after almost 6 years! Still amazing! Tried a few new items and they did not disappoint. My favourites are: 1. The beef burger cooked to perfection with a side of crispy sweet potatoes. 2. Mushroom risotto - deliciously creamy. 3. Duck confit with an amazing spiced carrot cream. 4. The Cod fritters with pear alioli were the surprise of the night, unassuming but delicately delicious. 5. The pork shoulder with sweet potatoes is such a well balanced dish. Tip: To share between 2 people, get the Tapas size and aim for 4-5 items. We were full after 5 (apart from the 5 dishes listed above we also took the octopus which was very good but the others had that special something which it didn't... At least for us!) but we were looking at some reviews and we're convinced to try the risotto which was absolutely worth it. We also shared a Chocolate crumble dessert which was very good as well. The sangria was nice.

Service was bad. Should have walked away ... Walked in at almost 2pm on 13 Aug 2024, and the place was almost full. I asked a service staff behind the bar as usual 'perdon, una persona, por favor?' and she said they're full but signaled me to wait. So I stood there for a few mins and noticed there was an empty seat at the end of the bar, which was there empty since I arrived, so asked another staff if I could have the seat. She replied to me in English rather rudely, 'NO NO! It's full, there's 8 of them there. We're full. THERE IS NO TABLE FOR YOU!' the tone was as rude as anything I've come across in my life. Didn't say anything and turned to walk out but then heard a voice 'un momento, un momento!' ... Turned and saw the first wait staff motioning to me ... Told me now there's a table at the side of the room and I can have it but need to vacate by 3pm. Should've just left off but decided to stay and have a caña and a chipirón a la plancha before quickly leaving. The chipirón was served on a bed of crumb like mixture that didn't go well with the chipirón but the chipirón was nice. That said, for a few euros more I went down the alley to a more traditional bar and had a whole plate full of chipirónes, which was really tasty too and it was only medio ración. Truth be told looking at menu the prices here aren't expensive but maybe trying too hard to be modern. I could be biased with only one dish and a bad experience. Lady who took my order was the one who was extremely rude to me and could see from her expressions she didn't want to serve me.

Starting with the food - it was PHENOMENAL. we would definitely recommend the octopus and the burrata, it was extremely fresh and we never had our tastebuds tickled that way. Avoid the salted cod fritters as it tasted starchy, though the sauce was what saved it. Service was lacklustre and disappointing. While waiting, we were told we had 6 tables before us and had to wait 40 minutes. A table opened up and it was kept empty, which was bizarre. We were told we could have a glass of wine while waiting but the menu never came nor did any of the service staff come up to ask if we needed anything. After being seated at aforementioned empty table, we were barely given attention (they would pass a few times before clearing out plates). We asked for one serving of bread and they gave one packet of crispy bread fingers and ONE SLICE of bread. That's barely enough for one person! Service should have been more attentive in introducing the dessert rather than assume we know how they work (very impatient in explaining) which was extremely unfortunate. It has marred our dining experience, which is a shame.
