Wow! This place is a real gem! They opened bang on the dot of 8.30pm which meant a few of us early birds we're waiting outside whilst the shutters were still down. A small queue formed however which had to be a good sign! Once inside they took such excellent care of you. Attentive service - gave you nuggets of info about the dishes, no plate sat for too long once finished - and as I was dining alone, the owner offered me a book to flip through which featured more paintings by the same artist as the ones on the walls. This was such a kind gesture and was also very interesting. The food was outstanding! It was super fresh and really tasty. Would hugely recommend the anchovy, mango and avocado salad, the monkfish main and the pistachio mille-feuille. The atmosphere of the place was great too - gorgeous decor and nice buzz about it. Some other reviews mention slow service but personally I found it pleasantly leisurely and enjoyed not being rushed through. When you see the care and attention that goes into each dish it's understandable and it's clearly made fresh. Lastly I have to mention the price - it's SO reasonable especially for the quality of the food. You will likely need to book via their website but you may be lucky and get seated at one of the very limited bar spots. An absolute highlight of my time in...
Read moreI had a reservation at 7:30pm when the door opens and came on time while finding that somehow my reservation was canceled and they couldn’t find it.
With that being said they seated us at the worst table which is where the staff comes in and out of the bar area when the whole restaurant only had a table of two at that time. When I asked to switch to the table next to us, they replied it is reserved. Though we ended up switching, when we left at 9pm, the restaurant was only a quarter full.
During our courses, we ordered anchovies salad, scallops, and iberian rice for one. However, the waiter handed us two plates of seafood stew when I questioned if I had ordered this. He replied yes while being very firm that he even checked with me for its portion. Later on, he realized the dishes are actually for the other table and kept apologizing.
Then somehow the entire restaurant was full with smoke while the kitchen was grilling something, and i walked out smelling like i had bbq.
Tbh, the entire experience is similar to other recent comments regarding its poor services.
The only plus is that its menu has a very clear english version. Pretty sure you can find better...
Read moreMy wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Mechela Arsenal in Sevilla back in April, and it was an experience worth sharing. The booking process was seamless, and upon our arrival, our table was ready and waiting for us.
We started our meal with a salad featuring sweet potato, which was a delightful combination of rich flavors and perfectly balanced dressing. Each dish we ordered was prepared with great care and high-quality ingredients, showcasing the chef's dedication to excellence. The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the steak, which was cooked to perfection and truly ended our dinner on a high note.
The staff at Mechela Arsenal were attentive and courteous throughout our visit. Although we experienced some delays in service, the team was quick to acknowledge the issue without us having to mention it. They graciously offered us a complimentary dessert or drink as a gesture of goodwill, which we appreciated even though we were too full to accept.
Overall, Mechela Arsenal is a genuine gem in Sevilla, offering a memorable dining experience with exceptional food and thoughtful service. We highly recommend it to anyone...
