I can honestly say that Bodeguita Antonio Romero was probably the worst restaurant I have ever eaten at. The service was fine, although the staff have made no effort to learn English, which is the international language. But this factor can be overlooked as we had also made little effort to learn Spanish, to be honest. However, the food itself is not worthy of any stars, and is nothing more than mere pub grub. To summarise: All but one of the plates were filled full of greasy, nasty, budget crisps from Lidl. Not even quality crisps. Just junk budget crisps that probably cost 10 cents per bag. Another plate contained just one nasty, solitary, cold, white asparagus from a jar (not even fresh), and it would have been far cheaper to buy the entire jar of asparagus directly from Carrefour, rather than pay €3.50 to have it slapped on a plate with a half slice of tomato! A so-called “stuffed eggplant” that contained ZERO eggplant, and was basically just a greasy fritter filled with ham (I’m a vegetarian so my fiancé had to eat it instead). Mushrooms fried “home style” in a random greasy coating with a revolting garlic sauce plopped on top. Croquettes filled with meat and fish, which my fiancé described as tasting “nasty”. Spinach with chickpeas which smelled and tasted like body odour. 6 tiny artichoke hearts right out of a Lidl can, slapped on a small plate with a bit of shredded lettuce, and nothing else.
If you are a vegetarian, my advice is to avoid at all costs. None of the items on the menu explain what they contain, so you’re none the wiser until it arrives, and it’s pointless asking the waiters because they (conveniently) don’t understand English. In fact, even if you do eat meat, I would recommend you avoid at all costs. I really have no idea how this place has managed to receive any 5* ratings, let alone so many, unless the restaurant owners have paid for fake reviews.
This truly was the most shocking food I’ve ever encountered, and the bar/restaurant was close to empty - It seems very few eat here, which is suggestive of the quality...
Read moreNo matter what sector you work in, "morality" and "ethics" should be values that you should not abandon. @bodeguitas_ar, which we have been going to for a long time, was a popular address serving in a bar concept, so we did not care much about the service quality. However, during our last visit, we dealt with service personnel who have lost their work ethic and are not afraid to lie to you while looking you in the eye. It has fraudulent employees who can give the table we waited 30 minutes for to be vacated to a local acquaintance coming from outside and say, "I didn't see you while you were waiting, you weren't here." Piripi made here is perhaps the best in the city. But ethics and morality can disgrace even this taste. Another bad thing is that when they tried to escape by saying they didn't know English, we spoke their own language, Spanish. However, this time they continued their inconsistent lies in front of dozens...
My family and I went to dinner at the bar at this tapas bar serving typical Andalusian cuisine, located in Seville's Triana neighborhood, not far from the Triana Bridge. Like all tapas bars in Spain, you can eat at the bar or sit at one of the few tables inside, but you have to be very patient to find a spot because the bar is always packed. We waited a long time before finally dining at the bar and chose the following tapas:
Mixed Salad Tapa
Cod Omelette Tapa
Piripi Tapa or Piripi Montadito, which in Seville refers to a very popular sandwich (small sandwich), usually made with pork loin, bacon, cheese, tomato, and an egg sauce.
Cheek Tapa, which is extracted from the muscles that operate the jaws, known as the masseter muscles. Also known as "cheeks" according to the Royal Academy (RAE), they are one of the increasingly popular "lean" pieces of Iberian pork.
Shrimp omelet
Cachopo tapa, a signature dish from Asturias, Spain. It consists of two large beef steaks sandwiched between slices of Serrano ham and cheese.
We loved everything—it was abundant, delicious, and the staff, despite the huge crowd inside the bar, was very friendly, welcoming, and smiling. The service was quick and the prices were...
