I was recommended this place by my friend in Spain as he enjoyed his time here 2 years ago. That being said, things probably have changed. Whether it was a discrimination issue or that’s just their attitude it is most definitely unacceptable and really put me off from enjoying my tapas experience in Seville. Dismissive demeanor.
Food: it exceptionally underwhelming and worst part.. it was cold most definitely microwaved. I understand it was a tapas bar but how can it be so bad? Pepe Hillo & Casa Morales gave great service and the food was on point and definitely came out hot and fresh. We had the oxtail which was warm on the outside and cold on the inside. Sangria was nothing to write home about as well. The Camembert cheese was nothing to write home about. And the rest of the food didn’t come 😂 but was charged which we had to inform them.
Service: terrible. Took our order and never bothered to come back to check if we wanted to order more, or refill our sangria. When I tried to get their attention, NOPE, too busy. Showed that we wanted an additional sangria they acknowledged but never delivered.
Waited for our missing Spanish omelette and missing Sangrias, never came. But were charged for TWO extra sangrias and the Spanish Omelette. Thankfully that was taken off the bill.
I would definitely recommend visiting other tapas bars nearby unfortunately.
Casa Morales would be a great...
Read moreMost disappointed I've been with food in Spain (10 days or so). Price was actually quite reasonable and some of the food actually wasn't too bad. Pork cheeks were a huge standout and was quite good. Grilled artichokes weren't bad either. Spanish omelette and the potato salad don't need to be ordered. That said, my wife and I both started to have slightly upset stomachs after eating. On food alone, this would probably be 3/5.
Our server was definitely terrible though. Super duper sloppy both with his masking and with the orders (wrong order came on our food and probably also led to us getting a new server as we never saw the same person again). Couldn't get attention for food orders for the longest time and the same food order as the table next to us (ordered after us since they arrived after us) came significantly after their order. We are probably at say 2/5 at this point.
Bathroom was wildly underprepared and what truly cemented the 1/5. No toilet paper or hand towels could be found in either men's or women's bathroom. We went at 7 pm ish which should be very early in the night. Additionally, we saw lamp posts held together by duct tape and a table holding silverware together breaking right as we entered. Overall, just seems like they really need to get their act together across the board and there's no chance we'd return. Too many other...
Read moreI had dinner with a friend, and he's paying so I don't want him to spend too much, so I told the waitress to bring tap water, which they normally would do here in restaurants in Spain. Instead the grumpy latina waitress brought a bottle of sparkling water, and as I asked her to change and not to open it, she pretended not to hear me cause I guess she's racist(I'm asian) and then when I put my hand on the bottle so she can take it away she put the bottle opener directly on my hand and started using it and cut me !!! I have travelled the world and I speak spanish French Italian fluently but I've never seen anyone in the service industry so rude in a touristic place !!!They should fire her, cause she's highly unprofessional, let alone racist. But I bet she feels the racism a lot since she's not white either, but it's not justification for her rude behaviour ! Shame for them to hire someone like her, I will post it on Instagram about the restaurant and her and I have connection all over Europe, hopefully people will know how some of their employees are like. Other waiters had been friendly and helpful tho ! Only the darker skinned shorter latina waitress was rude. Another taller and gorgeous latina waitress was sweet and...
