Morante — Restaurant in Seville

After reading other reviews, we were really excited about eating here. However, how disappointed were we!

There was a table of eight Spanish people who had finished their meal when we arrived, so considering how quiet it was we still waited over 20 minutes before anyone came to our table to take our order, no attentive staff to speak of at all.

The cold starters came 10 minutes before the hot, yes we know they were cold but surely all 4 meals should arrive together?

We all ordered the steak for our main, 2 medium rare, 2 medium to well, however, our starter plates had not been cleared when the mains arrived, so all were taken back to the kitchen whilst the table was cleared. When the food finally arrived, they were lukewarm, and to say they were ALL rare is an understatement. The cow was still mooing.

The service was appalling, especially as we were the only table in the restaurant. The whole experience was very disappointing after reading such good reviews.

The restaurant was also advertised as being a tapas restaurant. However, there were no tapas dishes at all. A couple walked out after reading the menu as they were expecting tapas.

It seems the beautiful setting outweighed the civility of the staff, style over substance. Disappointing to say the least,...

Also based on the good reviews we decided on this place for our diner on april 16 2025. Well, the food is okay the service is just not right. We had the cut meat and croquetas as starters and before we could finish, they already brought the main dish to the table. Telling the waitress we first want to finish our starters...., the main dishes returned to the kitchen. The came back to the table, just luke warm and had not been prepared new even though they mention it would be made new. Well it was newly warmed... The French fries were stone cold so they made new ones which arrived when we nearly finished the mains. Bad service, not happy customers. One other annoying thing is the constant walking around with ratling trolleys with dishware right through the restaurant in a constant flow. Might be done for years, but it is annoying at the least. The food was excellemt. But what truly made the evening memorable was the service, especially Lucia, our server.

Lucia was absolutely outstanding. From the moment we sat down, she greeted us with a genuine smile and made us feel welcome. She was attentive without being intrusive, knew the menu inside out, and gave thoughtful recommendations that turned out to be spot on. What really stood out was her kindness and professionalism — she noticed small details, like refilling our water glasses before we even asked and checking in at just the right moments.

It’s rare to find someone who combines such warmth with efficiency, but Lucia truly did. She turned a good meal into an unforgettable experience.

I’ll definitely be returning soon — not only for the food but also to be served again by Lucia. Five stars...
