Look I can't be completely down on this place. The iberica pork was sublime however a few things made our experience very tainted. For starters I wanted just the main pork dish. When it arrived I got a sizzling plate and raw meat. Absolutely fine but it was placed in front of me with no instructions on what I should be doing or how long I should be cooking it for. I just had to figure it out. Part way through I realised I had been using the one fork I had to pick up the raw meat with so had to venture inside to get a fresh fork to actually eat with. Just some small attention to detail for the restaurant to be aware of. The meat was delicious though I have to say. However my other half just wanted tapas of a few items on the menu. He ordered a couple of different things (he does also speak reasonably good Spanish) and we asked for everything to be delivered at the same time. One dish had not been delivered with the rest of the meal (maybe down to table size but no one came back) and later on we mentioned we had a dish missing. When it came back, near enough after everything else had been eaten, it was a full three pieces of tortilla instead of just the one piece tapas size we asked for so we politely mentioned this and the waitress stormed off with an awful attitude rather than just be polite and suggest she would look into it. A few minutes later another waitress returned to argue with us. The attitude was awful and had suggested that he had ordered a full portion and not a tapas size. By this point we were almost a full meal in and no one would have been any the wiser had we not even mentioned it was missing! Rather than just accept that there was clearly a miscommunication between us and rectify the issue we were met with confrontation. It was not a good situation to be in and ruined our evening. One piece of advice I would have is to be aware of customer service and just being kind to people where communication...

Not trying to be wild but we were really disappointed. The Iberian ham used to come with 5 or 6 slices, but now it’s just four.

We finished the other dishes and waited for half an hour, but the roast still hadn't arrived, so I asked how long it would take.

It was hard to get the waiter's attention. There was a short-haired waitress who seemed socially anxious to foreigners or maybe didn't understand English. I waved my hand, she walked near our table, almost made eye contact with us, but chose to ignore us and serve the table next to us instead. This happened multiple times. The tables she served didn’t even signal her, but she served them anyway, ignoring us.

They looked like they either missed our order or gave it to someone else by mistake.

Other people’s Iberian pork doesn’t seem to have as much fat. It was extremely greasy because it was cooked on a stone grill that doesn't drain the oil.

The stone grill wasn't hot enough to cook the last piece thoroughly, so I had to ask them to reheat it in the kitchen.

When it was time to pay, they cleared the plates but forgot to bring the bill for a long time.

In London, when encountering such long waits, they would give a discount. They know...

The best restaurant I’ve ever tried in Seville!

It was Saturday at dinner time and we arrived with a baby, without a reservation. Even though the restaurant was fully booked, they were incredibly kind and found a solution for us in just a few minutes. Throughout the evening they were very attentive and also incredibly sweet with our little daughter.

As for the food, every single dish was delicious! At Petra I had the best tortilla ever — it was excellent. All the other dishes were fantastic as well; the quality of the ingredients was outstanding, and above all, everything was cooked perfectly, without excessive seasoning. When bold-flavored condiments were provided, they were usually served on the side, which really enhanced the natural flavors.

Last but not least, the bill was more than fair — in my opinion, even a bit low for such quality! We paid less than 50€ for a tortilla plate, 2 tapas (including the sublime fried peppers!), half a plate of top sirloin, and 2 sangrias.

To sum up: I strongly recommend Petra! The staff are very kind and the dishes are fantastic.

Thank you so much, guys, wishing you...

BEST restaurants 👇🏼 🍽️We spent few days eating our way through Sevilla, here are some of our favorites:   📍 Islamorada Tapas Bar –AMAZING!! 📍 Moya Brunch 📍 Paco Pepe Bar 📍 Bodega dos de Mayo 📍 Bodeguita Romero 📍 Artefacto Brasas Bar 📍 Mercado de Triana 📍 Donaire Azabache 📍 Bar El Comercio – best churros! 📍 Señora Pan 📍 Petra   ✋Honest opinion- I would skip El Rinconcillo, a very popular and the oldest tapas bar in Sevilla. The décor was cool, but that’s where it stopped for us, the food and the service were not our favorite  📌 Save for your next visit ❓Is Sevilla on your list?   ➡️ Follow for more tips @travelswithmr   #spain #seville #sevilla #sevillefood #goodfood #traveltip

Just perfect, and the best restaurant meal I have had in the last decade. We had a wonderful meal at Petra - so good in fact that when paying the bill we immediately made another reservation. They serve beautifully presented food using high quality ingredients and offer a good selection of wines (we went with their recommendation which was delightful). Service was attentive and discreet and the staff were personable, warm and welcoming. The pork and beef were of a very high quality and the cheesecake was the best I've ever had. Reservations only operate with certain times and walk-ins may need to wait as this restaurant is popular and rightly so - Petra deserve every success. We are already looking forward to our next meal here.
