We had a pleasant experience at Catalina La Barra! The atmosphere inside is super cute and stylish—perfect for grabbing a drink to start the evening. My sister and I both ordered Tinto de Verano, which was refreshing, but we were surprised to be charged €3.50 for one and €8 for the other, even though they were the exact same drink. A bit odd and definitely worth double-checking your bill.
Since the weather was nice, we decided to eat outside, which was lovely, though the patio seating is ironically right in front of the trash bins—so inside might be the better move if you’re going for ambience.
Food-wise, the brioche sandwiches were the standout—absolutely delicious! The croquettes were solid, but some of the other tapas felt just okay. Service was fine; the staff were helpful when asked but understandably busy and not overly attentive.
All in all, a nice little spot with great vibes and a few strong dishes. Worth visiting for the atmosphere and a casual bite—just keep an eye on...
Read moreWe had a few days in Seville and were looking for somewhere to eat fortunately we came across Catalina ( La Barra Alfalfa note it’s this venue) as there is one other in another location, and ventured in, I can honestly say the food we ate on both occasions ( yes we returned for dinner the following night) way exceeded our expectations we’ve been travelling for some time now and without doubt one of the better meals we’ve had full stop. The staff were friendly and very professional especially Alex who really stood out.I must say the chefs who prepared our meals should be given the highest praise. If your ever in the beautiful city of Seville I highly recommend you make time to go to this lovely venue and suggest you try the Artichoke dish with egg yolk and Iberico ham OMG delicious and the Pork shoulder with Chimichurri sauce.🤤 I fact all the dishes we had were wonderful. Very highly...
Read moreIf you’re a local or Spanish speaker you’ll probably walk away with a positive experience, this is purely from the perspective of a foreigner. The place is packed and busy so I want to give the staff the benefit of the doubt. My waitress however was quite cold and curt from the getgo. All I expect from service is basic courtesy and politeness, I don’t expect anyone to go over the top especially knowing how tough the service industry is. But what ultimately turned me off is that in order to get my attention, my waitress poked me in the side…where my waist is…just feel like this crosses a line. Lost my appetite and left. Again, if you’re a Spanish speaker maybe you’ll have a great experience, there must be a reason they’re busy. Just a heads up for other foreigners, maybe try...
