Such a great spot to start your day with a cool breakfast. Here are few insights: âïž Coffee -Cappuccino was really delicious and the portion is satisfying. Highly recommended. đ„ Eggs Benedict with Salmon -Overall, a great plate. There are just few touches that could have been done -Presentation is really really good and makes your eyes happy just before the meal. -The plate was warm, not hot. Iâd prefer my eggs hotter. -Hollandaise sauce was not a strong taste and Iâd prefer more of it. Wasnât enough sauce. -Salad was freshly made but the salad sauce was a bit too sweet. I think it should be balanced in terms of sourness and salt. -Avocado is a basic ingredient of an eggâs benedict with salmon. But it wasnât here. They asked us if we want to add avocado and we said yes but it was extra, and 2,5 Euros for avocado is too much. -Chips were crispy, good. đȘAtmosphere -It was a small coffee, so the toilets happened to be too close to eating area. Doors are always closed so it is not a huge problem, but still.. Staff are extremely kind
Paid 30 euros for 2 people. Great...
Read moreI just ate lunch at Mokambo; this family-run restaurant was delightful! First, the good air conditioning was a welcome relief from the hot Sevillano summer. I'm not usually a salad person, but due to the high temperature outside i ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad, which was was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. As much as I am now used to the typical Spanish breakfasts of tostadas, I am looking forward to returning and sampling their interesting breakfast menu, with many dishes not commonly found in Andalucia. They are only open for breakfast, brunch, and lunch (up to about 5:00 p.m.), but the menu is quite diverse, including several poke dishes, sandwiches, Eggs Benedict, Mexican-inspired dishes, omelets, waffles, and home made pastries. The service was super friendly and excellent; this Sevillano family speaks far better English than I speak Spanish, even though they humored me and were complimentary when I wanted to practice my español. We had a really fun conversation about differences between the US and Spain. Again, I'm looking forward to...
Read moreReally don't understand why this place is so highly rated. Weird vibe from the start- there were probably a dozen empty tables but the host seemed very inconvenienced to find one for me, I think they try to inflate the crowds intentionally by holding tables way before reservations. Many of the tables were still empty when I left.
Ordering was frustrating- I asked for my latte without vanilla but it still came with syrup, and they were very rude in insisting it wasn't possible to sub chips for potatoes even with an upcharge. Not the end of the world, but then the food took 45 minutes to arrive and the restaurant is not even full. Painfully slow service.
The food itself was fine. Nothing special or worth going out of your way for, just ok. But not worth all the hoops. This place is also priced much higher than other similar restaurants in the...
