I had first been here about 10 years ago and remembered it being good, so we decided to go back with some friends for NYE lunch. I called the night before to book a table. From the beginning it was a disaster. When we arrived I told the woman working there that we had a reservation and told her the name and she looked at me like I was an idiot. She said they had no reservations for that name and asked how I made it. I said I phoned and she said I must have booked it for the other location (I did not). She then tried to speak to me in English, as if the problem was I didn’t understand her. I repeated in Spanish that I had booked there and after a few minutes she found the reservation. We were dining with a baby in a stroller and the table was up the staircase rather than downstairs (there was a table available outside and I mentioned the stroller when booking) and shoved into a corner. Then it really went downhill because our waiter seemed to have no idea what he was doing - 40 minutes to bring a beer, then forgot next round of drinks, then didn’t come back at all to check on us, then after we had eaten a few tapas he informed us they had closed the kitchen. However, we were still waiting on two dishes we had ordered that he had forgotten, which we therefore couldn’t get. I protested and he said it was his second day, so I don’t fault him, rather the management that had him handling the upstairs area by himself without adequate training. We left hungry and irritated. A real shame that the first woman was extremely rude and the waiter was inexperienced because the food is good....
