it’s been my 2nd consecutive Summer coming to “La Jaula de Papel Restaurant”. Located right in the heart of Sevilla❤️🔥 Continue returning due to their attention to detail when presenting exquisite, fresh, high-quality, creative dishes which include their original meats, seafood, pastas, desserts, as well as a selection of wines & beers, magical atmosphere and outstanding customer service! One of my many favorite starters their “croquetas de dátiles” (Iberian chorizo with blue cheese and dates). Please do enquire about additional dishes they might have available “off the menu”. There is outdoor seating on the extraordinary terrace in a stunning plaza. Indoor seating is also provided and beautifully decorated with remarkable lamps, wonderful pieces of art on the walls, in addition to origami herons made of paper representing FREEDOM. Its suitable for families, children, large groups, couples, business meetings, and also for intimate and romantic dinners. I preferred to make reservations, but “walk ins” are welcomed , if a table is available. Nevertheless, they always try their best to accommodate everyone. They are opened daily from 1pm-4pm & again from 8:30pm-12:00am and Mondays 8:30pm-12:00am
Pedro Boch, a hospitality expert with ample years of experience in the restaurant business, has put together an outstanding team of professionals! Starting from the chef Oliver and the team of gifted culinary individuals, Daniel, Ana, Arron to the exceptional waiters Paz, Marta, Estefano, David and a few unfortunately cannot remember their names. Nevertheless, which ever dish I chose and whom ever was servicing, I was NEVER disappointed

Read moreWe had high expectations for this restaurant but sadly had a disappointing experience. The tall gentleman who seated us had a lovely manner, but we didn’t him again afterwards. The two waitresses were okay but we had to ask for water several times and they didn’t act on the fact we were unhappy with our main courses. Also they were incredibly rude to people who tried to sit down after they had decided the kitchen was closed which made us very uncomfortable.
We had the salmon tartare to start which was thankfully delicious and for main had the pork and steak. The pork tasted lovely but there wasn’t much of it - mostly potato wedges with little sauce and minimal accompanying vegetables. The steak looked promising initially however was raw despite asking for medium rare, I enjoy my steak rare but this was inedible, slimy with a chewy texture which defines poor quality. Again with more dry boring potato wedges. We didn’t eat much and said it wasn’t good and they did nothing. It was our most expensive bill of our trip, yet came away hungry and dissatisfied.
Atmosphere is the highlight due to the busy location in a pretty square and odd buskers passing through.

Read morei have lived in sevilla since 2011 and - while it is easy to eat very well just about anywhere - my short list of favorite restaurants has never changed ... until now. welcome to my Top 3, querido Jaula de Papel. such an elegant restaurant, sumptuously decorated yet still cozy; impeccable service and absolutely exquisite food, so artfully plated that you almost feel bad eating it ... until you taste it. i’ve had the pleasure of eating there three times since it opened and i am incapable of ordering anything other than the calamari, which is the best damn grilled calamari i have ever had. luckily i’ve been in good company and have been able to try and share some of the best croquetas i’ve ever had, an incomparable salad in a city where salads and vegetables are scarce, decadent desserts and a cheese board so glorious that it had me licking artesanal jams off of my fingertips. my husband would like me to add that the meat selection rivals his favorite Ny steakhouse. congratulations to this restaurant and its lovely staff for raising the bar when so many others are content to keep churning out the same. and bonus points for a flawlessly written...
