I can honestly say this is one of the worst restaraunt experiences I have ever had in any country.
I came here with my family for dinner on a Sunday. It was recommended by a person I will never trust again. The place was completely empty. The wait staff treated us indifferently and sat us at a table next to a window, presumably to attract others into their empty, drab establishment. It was hotter than hell inside. We asked if there was anything they could do about the temperature. They said no but offered to move us to a different, equally hot table. We opted to stay at our table. Although our server was fanning herself and obviously understood how hot it was at no point did she acknowledge the heat or offer to do anything about it, like give us some water. She was passive aggressive and slow, despite us ordering two bottles of wine and the place being devoid of customers. The bathroom lacked a door handle (on the inside). My son spent several minutes trying to get out due to no handle. Thankfully there was some duct tape to prevent the lock from catching and eventually he freed himself. There was a random grimy room next to the bathroom with a bunch of cooking equipment strewn around the floor.
We sweated our way through some tuna tapas, which would have been OK except for the distracting heat. After that we ordered a rice with beef, a rice with lobster, and a pork tenderloin. The pork tenderloin came out fifteen minutes before the rice for no logical reason other than they thought we wanted it that way. This extended our literal hell on earth meal for that much longer.
I realize the restaraunt has salt in its name but I did not take that to mean literally they dump salt into the food. If you poured the rice on a slug it would shrivel instantly due to the insane amount of salt in it. If Saville had snowy winters you could de-ice the sidewalks with it. Inedible. At that point I demanded to speak with the chef but instead they took the rice off our bill and we left.
I have to guess that this place isn't always so terrible but on Sundays they do the bare minimum to keep the kitchen open, and have the worst crew running the place. If so, the world would be better off if they...
Read moreSlight toilet fragrance slightly put us off as we walked in the just opened restaurant at 8pm (earliest booking) to our inside reserved table. We are glad we did not sit outside as one of the tables appeared to be over a drain. I chose the tuna tasting menu (degustation) and my wife chose the deep fried calamari with frites. I also had a starter of duck foie gras. All courses were delicious, but pricey and with very small portions. The staff are friendly but they only had us to deal with. I can understand how when stressed they may appear abrupt (reading other reviews), but I think this is only from lack of experience and low staff numbers. Seems to attract English customers who were probably expecting more French style cuisine/ service based on the use of white tablecloths, napkins and uniforms.
Wine selection was alternative as we were handed a QR code to select a wine online. Not very helpful actually as, apart from a a few “recommendations “, there were no tasting notes or indication of grape/ dryness/ food complement. In the end I chose a white Jose Pariente (rueda) and it was superb; also only €25!
Overall a very pleasant meal, and despite the small portions, we felt replete. No toilet smells by the time we left as this was only on opening, so dont let that put you off. I would come back again, but just do t expect a big slap up meal as high dining is a more...

I’m not sure why this restaurant maintains 2 separate listings on Google maps: Taberna La Sal and Restaurante La Sal. Both listings direct to the same restaurant. The menu photos on Restaurant La Sal’s listing are also outdated - prices have increased about 2 euro.
If you’re looking to spend 40-80 euro (or more) per person for a meal, this is the place for you. The decorations are nice, the presentation of the food is nice, but the value doesn’t quite match.
The prawn ceviche had only 6 prawns in it. The rest was onion and other usual ceviche vegetables. To be fair, the vegetables were fresh and crisp. The overall flavor was good.
The Treasure of Almadraba dish was quite good. It is essentially battered deep fried tuna tataki.
I am giving 3 stars because while it was poor value, the food did taste good. I removed 2 stars because having 2 Google...
