We ran out of this place. And I mean literally ran. A little unexpected “friend” (aka 🪳) showed up that we really didn’t want to meet. Okay, it was hot, the doors were open, so things happen — but somehow it felt like we were the problem just for reacting if we talked to the owners…
Thankfully, my friend got her money back because she didn’t want to stay a second longer, and honestly, neither did I. We were uncomfortable, and totally done with the place. I knew from the beginning we needed to leave that place but yeah it got good reviews so….
Second thing, the lady at the counter didn’t understand us — which, fair enough, we don’t speak Spanish — but we tried our best with translations, hand gestures, and pointing at the menu. Still, she kept trying to give us different things. Sorry, but guacamole is guacamole in Spanish too. I get that “sour cream” might have been a bit harder to translate, but we even had friends who could help explain it, and it still didn’t help.
Outside it was 38°C, no air conditioning inside which made it very hot there, and it felt unbearable. The setup is more like a take-out counter, but you can eat there. Unfortunately, the staff mixed up our orders too, which only made things worse.
For food: I had the 4 tacos, and the food was okay, not the best but I was hungry…. We were with four people, but everyone ate at different times, and ordering took forever.
Honestly, it might be worth the experience if you’re curious — they seem to have good reviews online — but for me? Never again.
No pictures… not worthy to have taken (and I always...
Read moreWe ordered the following: Burrito with Barbacoa de Ternera 1 of each meat tacos except for Al Pastor because they only have that meat on the weekend Tamal de Fresa Horchata Jarrito de Mandarina
Let’s get the drinks out of the way. The horchata is absolutely the best Mexican Horchata I’ve had in Spain. It’s made in house and the quality is amazing. Must have. Jarritos here is a surprised. Jarritos are a rare find in Sevilla since they are and authentic Mexican soda. They have four flavors: Guava, Mandarin, Grapefruit, and Tamarind.
The burrito was delicious, I asked for extra meat though. I added guacamole, sour cream and cheese sauce. It was extremely filling and full of flavor. It was a very wet burrito and messy, but worth it. If they could figure out a way to make it a little pass wet, it would be perfect. I think issue was how much liquid the ternera barbacoa had. Still delicious non the less.
The tacos were great! Each meat had its very distinct flavor and each taco has different toppings complementing the meat. The best one for us was the Cochinita Pibil. The wetness was not an issue with the tacos.
Tamal de Fresa was average in my opinion due to the pasty texture. The flavor was there but the texture was not for me. My wife enjoyed it 100%. Texture is based on preferences.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant was well maintained and extremely clean. Decoration are nice and music is fitting to the environment. It’s a nice vibe.
I would put this restaurant in the top three Mexican...
Read moreThe evening of the last day traveling the Iberian Peninsula brought us to the Spanish city of Seville. With not too much time to explore, we decided to check out the Plaza de Espana and the nearby Canal de Alfonzo XIII area. After a dismal tapas experience at a restaurant in Tarifa the previous day, we needed some comfort food. Our prayers were quickly answered at TaKool - Restaurante Mexicano Sevilla ( P.º de las Delicias, 5, Casco Antiguo, 41001 Sevilla, Spain - near the Puente de S. Telmo bridge). Not sure what to expect (the restaurant is next to a McDonalds), we decided to to give it a try. The ordering process was simple, walk up to the counter, order, and they buzz you when your meal is ready for pickup. We landed an outdoor table to enjoy the sunset and a quiet one while we waited for our meal. Maria went with the burrito while I went with the four taco mix which included Pollo Marinado (chicken) and Al Pastor (pork). At the first bite, I was like "Holy Guacamole Batman, this taco is amazing and I need to tell the world". Note that the picture of my taco feast is after the first bite (Ha!). Very flavorful...true Mexican style tacos in the heart of Seville. As we devoured or meals, we noticed how busy this place was. The order line quickly got 15 people deep. The locals know where to go for great tacos in Seville, now...
