Café Sardina — Restaurant in Sitges

We ate here last night & what a disappointment 😞 To start we had tomato bread which was just soggy, with no flavour at all. We also had homous with crudités... The weirdest homous ever with dried bent & old black carrots... Tasted nothing like homous ... No garlic or tahini flavour 🤢My Husband had ribs which were the packet ones that are awful .. they were all fat & inedible. I had OUR FISH & CHIPS as I had read reviews online that it was a lovely meal, there was 4 pieces of fish & the top 2 were nice & crispy... The bottom 2 were undercooked & soggy. The accompanying chips were nice though. All in all it was a total waste of money and we would not return... We did actually tell the waitress who said... Ooh the waitress should have said the ribs were not barbequed but in a BBQ sauce... And well the fish & chips is our signature dish!!!!!! Well if that's you're signature dish... Then you should get it right then! Not a good experience. 4 days later the review was answered by saying they don't understand our comments as we cleared all our plates... I would like to add this this is totally incorrect! Half of the houmous & all the black bent dried up carrots were left. Half the ribs & the soggy undercooked half of the fish was left on our plates... Which is why the waitress/ manageress questioned if everything was OK! So not only was the food inedible but they do not even have the decency to admit to serving sub standard, inedible food. Totally outrageous to imply that we ate...

We've been going to Cafe Sardina for 4 years now. Been there numerous times and always had great food and service. This time however, our waitress asked us for a tip when we paid the bill. We have NEVER been asked for a tip at the restaurant, but whatever, the service was good but not great. Honestly, we have never been asked for a tip anywhere in Spain. We though it was odd. When we politely said "No thanks", she asked us again "No tip?" When we declined a second time, she said "Its customary to leave a tip. Everyone leaves a tip!" We said no a third time and she shook her head at us. We sometimes leave a cash tip at the end of a good meal if the service or the food was great. But to demand a tip and try to bully your customer? No. Sorry. She's a long time employee there, so that made it even worse. UPDATE: Thanks for the positive response. We hope to have many more wonderful meals at...

Will absolutely not come back. This was the first time ever I sent food back.

The fried eggplants were completely burned through. Sent ‘em back! We specifically asked if the guacamole contained coriander, the waiter said no. When we got it it was full of it. Sent it back! It took almost 40 minutes to get some cold cut meat They served our two mains with 15 minutes apart so I had finished eating before my partner’s food came Very small portions! I mentioned this when we paid and said it almost seemed like kids portions. The waiter looked me dead in the eyes and said it was. That wasn’t stated in the menu and he didn’t mention it when we, two big men, ordered our food. Very little wine in the glass Over priced.
