This was a very disappointing experience. The restaurant was supposed to open at 1 PM: we arrived at 12:59, but they were clearly not ready (they were still washing the floor) and told us to wait outside. Ten minutes passed and no one came back to us, so we finally decided to go in again. This time, we were allowed to sit.
When we started placing our order, the person in charge rudely interrupted my girlfriend to ask if we wanted appetizers. Because he didn’t listen to her, he ended up bringing her a dish with meat, even though she is vegetarian… When we told him she had asked for the vegetarian option, he insisted that she hadn’t. Once again, he had interrupted her while ordering, and we weren’t even sure she would get her meal at all.
It is also worth mentioning that we had to wait far too long at every step: at least 20 minutes for the appetizer, the same for the main course, and even longer just to pay.
Finally, the food itself was poor: the meat was tough, and the vegetables had no flavor.
For all these reasons, we cannot recommend...
Read moreI was very, very excited to see this restaurant open having had one of the best Mexican meals of my life in Andorra. Unfortunately this is not the same at all, not even in the same league. The nachos were very strange, they seemed to be covered in some kind of fake spray cheese with a very artificial flavour. My main was genuinely inedible, somehow managing to be both soggy and incredibly dry simultaneously. I sent it back, or at least tried except the waiter took over 20 mins to even check on us, by which time it was too late to order anything else.
I wish I could have expressed how disappointed I was but he wasn’t interested and doesn’t really speak English anyway, which was also quite surprising for a beach front restaurant in one of the busiest tourist towns in Catalunya. I have no idea how it’s got 5 stars at the moment. I genuinely didn’t think Mexican food could be bad until today.
Also it’s about 50% more expensive than better places further into town because it’s on the sea front. Honestly save your money and go to SoCa...
Read morewill get right to it, the food was sub par for Mexican food. On this occasion an appetizer of chalupas and two main dishes, enfrijoladas and enmoladas were ordered. The chalupas were drenched in grease in their attempt to fry the thin corn tortilla. The salsas, green and red were standard and nothing spectacular, the pork was dry but was ok when mixed with the oil from the chalupa and the sauce. Both main dishes came with Sahara dry chicken that tasted like, well, chicken. The enfrijolada sauce was made with black beans instead of a pinto bean which would be considered the standard for all type of Mexican food. The combination of the texture of the dry tasteless chicken, bean sauce which was then over compensated by half a head of shredded iceberg lettuce, cream sauce and cheese on top. The enmolada sauce was a slam dunk. The best part of the entire meal. It was sweet and spicy with a medium thick consistency that coated the tortillas and chicken evenly. I would not recommend at all, go...
