My fiancé and I went here for lunch today and were initially wondering if we had made a good decision as we were the only guests albeit it was almost 3pm. Our initial concerns were soon put aside when we were serviced our starters of chicken and mushroom and also chicken and sweetcorn soup. Despite choosing off the set menu the portions were huge and well worth the cost of under €15 per person. We followed soups with lemon chicken and beef curry, both accompanied with egg fried rice. Again received big portions with both dishes having great flavours and textures. Our final course was banana fritters, three pieces each no less, which had nice light crispy batter and moist soft banana inside. The current manager is the nephew of the original owner with restaurant having been established over 30 years ago. Several of their sauce recipes, for example, had originally been used many years ago in 5 star mainland Chinese restaurants and are unique to this restaurant. Read moreWe had a takeaway, quarter duck starter, plenty of duck and pancakes but plum sauce, hoisin, or whatever it was, was tasteless. My partner ordered beef in black bean sauce and sadly got a beef with green pepper with a Sunday lunch beef gravy tasting sauce! No black beans in sight! Edible but not something to repeat. I ordered chicken balls, they came swimming in a sweet and sour sauce and so by the time we got back to our villa, 10 mins, the batter was all soggy and pretty yucky! Food was mediocre at best! From the reports previously given perhaps we should have tried sitting in. Though now I wouldn't go again, too many other lovely places near here at good value. Staff were good and place looked clean is the best I can say, sorry!...
Read moreThis was honestly so delicious. The food portions are huge, I had to ask for a takeout box to bring to back to the hotel with me! The starters were delicious, the chicken noodle soup was as my mother quotes "perfect, they weren't soggy, weren't mush" she made sure to eat all the soup aswell, the salt and pepper ribs were absolutely perfect. The chicken fried rice was huge and had proper chicken slices in and was so flaversome I wouldn't of needed any curry sauce with it though the curry sauce was just the right flavour and spice level. The fried bannana we weren't too keen of. The staff were extremely friendly, decor and music was lovely. Overall a 4 star. Thankyou for...
