I ordered the Chipirones a La Plancha and it arrived very quickly. It was exquisite and enough of a portion size for a good meal. For about 13€ it was a very reasonable dinner and I enjoyed a refreshing non-alcoholic beer. I came at a busy time and I was able to receive excellent service and quality food from the kitchen. The cook from Venezuela is a very friendly person who always smiled when exiting the kitchen and the server from Peru refused to serve more alcohol to an older gentleman who was dangerously drunk. This is safe and proper for a good business and it's protecting people. I read some of the previous reviews on this restaurant and I think those 3-star ratings and comments are unjust and unfair. This is place is not a "tourist trap", it is a perfectly legitimate business in another part of the world that is representing the best of European culture. To expect them to operate like American businesses is a stupid mentality that should be left at the airport. Accept the reasonable prices, be grateful and BE HAPPY to support the local economy. This is a 5-star establishment and my...

Felipe who served us grudgingly does not deserve his job. He is rude and too relaxed. He places drinks on one table while talking to others on another totally ignoring those he is serving. The picture of the food on the menu was three times as much as that delivered. We ordered cheese and ham platter. Red wine was served ice cold. Stocks are kept low and it’s all in the fridge. I asked for room temperature wine and he did not have any - when a discussion ensued I was advised to shut up. When requesting the bill this was verbally delivered with no paperwork. He had an eftpos machine but it was out of battery. He attempted to charge for a bottle of wine rather than two glasses. We asked for the bill. That arrived immediately - not like the wine which had to be begged for twice. The change given was incorrect but I did not bother as it was only 9 cents. I just wanted out of the place. Food was Ok but on the stingy side. . Don’t go here. You will be...

We waited for at least an hour for some of our drinks despite already having received the food and having asked 4 times for the missing part of the order. The waiter tried to convince as we never asked for the drinks, but finally admitted that wasn’t true. One of us ordered a slice of tortilla, which we also asked for 4 times, every time we were told “it’s on its way”. Finally, we told the waiter we no longer wanted the tortilla and asked for the bill. We were then told we can not split the bill, because “they don’t want to take so long paying”. Additionally, the waiter tried to make the excuse that we didn’t receive the tapa because “the fire went off in the kitchen”, even though we did receive the rest of the food. Food was acceptable, but service absolutely abhorrent. Would...

We came to Toledo to enjoy food and culture. We came to Canas y Tapas to try typical food and tapas. We are glad to visit this place. The location and atmosphere were just amazing. Good energy, nice attention, delicious food. Rubén Espejo was our host. He explained all the menu in English and Spanish, guiding us to choose the best dishes. We ordered a Mixed Paella, The Tapas y Cañas burger, goad cheers and tomato salad, beers and dessert. From the tapas to the drinks everything was really good. We also got some delicious olives (The Best ever) you definitely should come and try them. We definitely will come back and strongly recommend this great place. We are thankful for the special attention of the whole team at the restaurant. We enjoyed a great time.

A really popular place, so we decided to give it a go. We sat outside and ordered a white wine and a red wine. No pinchos were given, which wasn't a big deal but worth mentioning. Tables were very close together so it felt rather cramped. We were surprised when the bill came to see that we'd been charged for the most expensive wines on the menu. Then 10% was added to the bill for sitting on the terrace. Then a further 10% IVA was added. So the menu prices don't include IVA (same as VAT for Brits). So, overall, we won't be back and I would recommend trying somewhere else (although most places seemed to be closed on a Tuesday evening).
