Not recommended for people with allergies, as the staff don't take them seriously. We ordered a simple tostada with tumaca and jamón, and it was served with a lot of chili flakes on top. I've never seen anyone do that in Spain and as my husband is highly allergic to chili, he couldn't eat it. We told the waiter and said we'd be happy to pay for a new tostada if they could make a new one without chili. (Normally we make it clear from the start that my husband can't eat chili, but who expects chili on the most basic Spanish breakfast?). The employee was very kind and prepared a new sandwich. Well, that's what we thought, as when the plate returned, all she had done was take the jamon off and put new slices of meat on the bread that we sent back. I could still see the chili flakes everywhere on the plate, the salad and the bread.
It's so unprofessional and even more, dangerous, to treat someone with a food allergy this way. The only right thing to do was to throw the entire dish away and prepare a new plate, to prevent any contamination. As we said, we were happy to pay for both dishes as we realised it was our fault to not mention the allergy with the order.
You can't work in the food business with this attitude, it's a disgrace.
Edit after reading their reply: We asked what the powder was and the waitress said chili powder. The allergy is actually chili, curry and paprika powder (paprika powder might be considered 'sweet', it contains the same allergen as chili powder, so he can't eat either.) Either way, we made it clear he couldn't eat the spices on top of the sandwich, and the plate that returned to us still had the spices on the plate. We're definitely not risking eating here again, not...

The little touches made it extra charming—the blue hand-painted table, fresh flowers in patterned vases, and the way everything was served on a wooden board gave it a cozy, aesthetic vibe. Perfect for sitting back, sipping slowly, and enjoying the moment.
