Sorry to be the odd one out, but I found this unbelievably average, bordering on poor, especially for the money.
A tuna tartare that hadn’t seen an ounce of seasoning in its life. Or acid for that matter! Let’s take a fatty fairly low flavour meat, add it to a fatty, low flavour veg, and then put it on top of some chewy green flavourless seaweed. This was crying for some salt, acid and / or chilli to cut through all the bland chewiness.
On to the main, an oxtail stew. So under cooked that they felt a need to give me a steak knife. It’s Alan oxtail stew, it should be falling apart when my fork even looks at it, but I had to pull the meat so hard to free it from the bone that it splattered my clothing.
The sauce had a skin on it before it even reached my table, and the menu didn’t state the stew came with veg (potatoes) so I’d ordered chips, which were unnecessary.
To add insult to injury, I couldn’t finish my bland starter and left it for them to take away, and the kitchen was so poorly timed that they delivered my main immediately after taking away my starter plate. Does the kitchen have any idea what it’s doing?
So, 3 stars, I was tempted to go with two, as I left much of both courses. The service was friendly enough, but the kitchen...
Read moreWe absolutely loved this restaurant and visited two locations for lunch at dinner with our party of five. We had dinner at their Centro location. Appetizer highlights included the tiny matias clams that were grilled(!) first and then served with a delicate light sauce; and the plump, juicy fried calamari. The burrata salad with arugula, roasted peppers, cherry tomatoes, and anchovies was outstanding, as were the salmon tartar with avocado and sesame sauce, and the inventive tomato tartar with avocado and strawberries. Scallops on the half shell were also grilled first, and served with a light garlic sauce on the side - delicious and tender. For mains, the octopus and braised oxtail (Rabo de Toro) were tender and flavorful—though reversing the sides and serving the oxtail over mashed potatoes could have enhanced the dish. The service was very attentive and personal, and we also loved their music selection! A creative, memorable dining experience we would happily return to. Graçias,...
Read moreWe had to wait for a while because the waiter forgot to pass the order to the kitchen. then they apologised and said that they could offer dessert, as long as they are polite and sincere, these issues are not important for us ☺️ The tapas types we chose were so delicious that although we ordered 4 types, two of us unfortunately could not finish them all, even if we ordered one less 😍 calamari, which I think is a difficult product to make well, I have eaten very bad ones in very good places, it was very tasty but a little salty for me.. my favorit was russian salad 👌 since it is very close to our hotel, we can come again to try the ones we have not tried 😍 and we drank Spanish...
